Just updated to this latest version and centering of icons on my middle monitor still doesn't work.

Left Monitor (2560x1440) = Centered As expected

Centre monitor Main (3440x1440) = icons stay on the left no matter what

Right monitor (2560x1440) = centered as expected

With this latest version even a re-install doesnt fix it anymore (at least until a reboot) and the icons are stuck to the left on my main monitor

Win 10 Pro Build 19043.1288

No other taskbar related control software installed except for other object desktop software.

For the time being I have switched back to using taskbarX as that at least works consistently.

If there is any more information I can provide that would help identify the cause of this issue please let me know.

Same for me

Windows 10 pro

I am also running Stardock Curtains as well...........

I experienced the same problem.

Restarting explorer.exe would not fix; ending and restarting explorer.exe would sometimes fix but too random for it to be a fix.

Uninstalled Curtains using Revo Uninstaller fixed the problem and now Start11 works as expected on both my monitors

Windows 11 Pro Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1320)

I am pleased to say that the issue with Curtains has been found and we have made an update to Curtains to fix the issue as the issue was in Curtains rather than Start11.   Hopefully we can arrange for that to be released next week.

font error (Chinese)

the font on the gui of start 11,not follow the system

The system font is a sans-serif font, and your software incorrectly calls the serif font. This problem occurred in 0.94, 0.95

We only ever use the one font face and do not change it for languages which is Segoe UI.

I would guess the OS is swapping fonts to a fallback when the font is missing symbols and the Win32 fallback isn't the same font as the UWP one in which case I am afraid this might be something that has to remain.

Google fallback font and you will read a lot about SimSum font and PMingLiu which are the MS fallbacks.

I imagine it occurred in 0.94 and above because prior to that the UI was in english and so the font contained all the suitable characters.

W10 style

what is criteria for "new" labels to vanish from under the app's name in the Start Menu? I've seen some that went away but others stayed - and these are not newly installed software

fourteen ?!? a day or two would suffice

A valid point, we could look at reducing that somewhat.

If anyone is interested in trying out a newer build, we have put up a customer opt in for 0.96 here : https://forums.stardock.com/507918/start11-v096-opt-in-for-interested-customers

The build will not be offered via ODM or my downloads on the store.  It is purely for customers on this forum who want to help us out.

You should use "follow the system default font" for text other than English, instead of letting the system find a fallback option at will.

Is it possible to know if any extra requested features are being explored/worked on or if they were discarded and we shouldn't hold our breath for them?  I am mostly talking about the clock on secondary monitor, ungrouping, etc.

Is there any word yet on the strange line that's left over when setting the taskbar to 0% opacity? If not for this line, 0% opacity, paired with autohide and centred icons would make for the perfect dock-like taskbar.

Windows 11 22000.282

Start11 v0.95

I have two displays. If I change Taskbar size small, the main taskbar changed correctly, but the  second is not, only the icons. The Large size is correct.

I am using Modern Style and several of my start icons on the bottom are cut off and missing. Is there a way to specify how many icons are shown like in 10?

Windows 10 style start menu issue: sometimes icons can be superimposed on one another (see image showing a small square icon overlapping the "windows" program (live tiles on the far right). This occurred when just trying to organize my tiles with small and regular sized tiles.

Windows: 22000.258

RC4 0.95.

I want to report a problem with the sorting of searchresults in Start11, which differs differs from the sorting of searchresults in Start10:

If you type the key word (e.g. name of a word-document) into the searchbox the results are sorted alphabetically ascending.

In Start10 I was used to see the results sorted by change-date: recently changed documents (e.g. word-documents) were listed above or it was possible to see the results alphabetically descending.

I don't know how to describe this problem better, so I want to give an example:

I lable many documents by adding the date at the end oft the name, e.g. "xxx 2021-10" or "xxx 2021-09".

Some years ago I labled them "xxx 01-2014" or "xxx 02-2015".

If I now type "xxx" into the searchbox the result is:

"xxx 01-2014"

"xxx 02-2015" and so on.

It should be like this:

"xxx 2021-10"

"xxx 2021-09" and so on.

Is there a possibility to change this behaviour back to the used behaviour in Start10? I prefer to see the latest documents above.

Many thanks.

I have checked this here and when the display language is set to Simplified Chinese (Which seems to be the language you are in?), the font fallback system the OS has in place appears to be broken in Win11 with Segoe UI Variable which is the font used on Win11.  I suspect Microsoft forgot to add in the mappings and it is using sub optimal ones so some chars are being pulled from one font and others from other fonts as on my setup I am getting a mix of Serif and non serif.

It does however seem to be working correctly with Segoe UI original so we have made it swap to that font if the language is Chinese.

This line is part of the taskbar itself rather than the background of it.

We can look at if we can remove this in future updates but this will be a post 1.0 thing.
