Schmoop.. I can't presume to be as familiar with you as many others on this list, but if that's really a pic of you in your 'current desktop' then I predict all you need to do is go outside to where some sentient members of your preferred persuasion gather together... and wait...

I will concede someone worthy of a smile like yours will be difficult to find

I was serious it takes ten years to get over your first true love.
I'm not sure how long it takes to get over the second true love.

Shmoopy, seriously? or off the cuff?

Seriously; time and slow healing, and allowing yourself that time....

Off the Cuff; his loss, he is a fool, (anything that runs opposite of the above)

give yourself time and do not allow yourself to fall into the trap of rebounding into a pseudo relationship with someone else in an attempt to heal something that took time to harm.. *YOU*

a quick fix isn't going to happen sad to say, and your a good person from what I've known of you here on the site. Enjoy your friends, your daughter, go out and have a good time, try not to spend to much time beating yourself up emotionally, make friends. Do not let anyone talk you into getting back out there and meeting someone new because you end up bringing all the confusion and everything else from the previous relationship into the new with you which only mucks up the water and sells not only you but the other person short.

anyway...

blah blah blah blah, I know, think to much and shouldn't presume...

but you have a good support line here with friends and you should have one in real life or build one step by step...

you take care of you...

I'll shut up now and be my goofy opinionated dorky self again...

If it wasn't meant to be Angela, it wasn't meant to be. Don't beat yourself up emotionally like IPlural said (great advice he gave). Dwelling won't get you anywhere.

You know how it goes: if you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it was meant to be. Be true to yourself, take it a day at a time, and you'll be fine. You're a great person with a wonderful heart and I hope you feel better.

Hmmmmmm, matters of the heart. Terrible curse upon mankind. Errr...Humankind. Take it one day at a time. No potion, pill, or tonic will ever help. Healing takes a long, long, long time. Sounds terrible, but billions of people go throught the same emotional turmoil as you do every day. Either that or get a good sewing kit and sew the two halves back together. >

Good ol Jack Daniels... J/K

Have faith and pray Angela. It will pass. Gets tough but it will pass. Besides, it IS his loss.

I lost a son (1 year 4 months old) and a fiancé before I met my wife. About 11 years ago to a drunk driver, and well I’m still waiting for time to heal.

Hi Shmoop! It's ol Rad. I understand what you are experiencing. It not only hurts emotionally but (as wierd as it sounds) physically. I HAVE BEEN THERE. It's horrible. Mine hurt so bad that I had no choice but to try to understand. I knew moving to either one of the artic circles would'nt make it better. That was 11 years ago. I spent the next 8 years or so studying our emotions. Not only as an individual but how they are effected by other people, love, loss and our environment. There are a lot of ways of "Working" on things like this. But one of the most important things that I learned in all of it was this. All of the Therapists, Phsychologist, relationship experts, etc... so on and so on can promise a solution but,and that's a big but, until a person is ready to be a good patient they can't help. I am truly setting here with a slight twinge of those old feelings just writing this, so please understand, this is coming from my heart to you as a friend. You will only get past it when, enough time (for you) go by for you to become rational with your thoughts and feelings about the situation. Only you will find the right way for you to understand and accept. These feelings are something you may or may not want to forget. Remembering them may help you and then they may hurt you. Only you can decide. I could go on and on and but I don't want to take up too much space here, but as your friend I can help you with the names of some books and some other stuff that can be really helpfull. You know you can e-mail me anytime. I have a girlfriend of 3 yrs so this isn't a setup of anykind. I only offer cause I can see you're feelings here and they have stirred my old feelings and I feel for you. I may even be making a total rear of myself here and I apologize if I am. Heck..it wouldn't be the first time! My family thinks I was born a rear and just grew bigger! Anyway the invitation is there if you're ever interested my mailbox is open. Again, I promise, I'm not a predator. I'm in love wih someone I can't stand! Her name is Monica. Either way I hope that it quits hurting you so bad.

Everyone goes through the 'Broken Heart' routine...Not to say that it is not hurtful but the kind that you are speaking of Dreamdesign3d is unimaginable to most...I am so very sorry for your loss. I have a 2 year old boy that I love more than I ever thought possible...to lose him would be more devistating than words can express...I don't believe that time could ever take that pain away.

Zodiaq~ , I soooo much agree with you. I am a single dad having raised them by myself since they were 10 & 5 and I can't even imagine ever getting over that great a loss. It has to be the saddest thing a parent/adult can think of. I don't think it's even possible to relate to that if you haven't been there. My heart goes out to you Dreamdesign3D.

IPlural, We used to be neighbors! I saw that in another thread.
