Start11

I'm having trouble with start11. When I install this in Windows 11, Windows 11 continues to run and can no longer do anything with the computer. Is there a solution for this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge part of this purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. If you wish to install, Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Also to go forward with your issue, need to know more information on your system.

  1. Windows 11 version, please use Windows Winver.exe for Windows full version numbers.
  2. Start11 version you're trying to use.
  3. You system CPU, Intel, AMD or ARM base?
  4. Any other relevant information.

Thanks

Hello,

I've tried everything including a completely clean install. But nothing helps.

Here is the requested information

1: Windows 11 version 21H2 (build 22000-258).

2: Start11 version 0.91

3: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Raden Graphics.

I hope to have provided you with enough information.

Kind regards,
Piet

Thanks, but when you said "Windows 11 continues to run and can no longer do anything with the computer." What actually you mean by that? The computer hang? Blue/Black screen? More details please.

Thank you,

The screen keeps flashing, so it doesn't stay still

So can't do anything with the computer, can't start a program or apps

Hello,

I could do that, but I don't feel like it anymore. First I have to install start 11 again and then restore Windows 11 from a restore point, otherwise, I can't do anything with the PC. I have done this several times and have done it often enough now. Too bad but no Start 11 on my pc. I hope you understand that I've had enough Start 11 sorry

There are two windows 11 issues I can think of that may be causing issues.

1. A lot of GPU's needed there drivers updated to fix random freezing and crashing issues happening once Windows 11 was installed. Make sure you have the very latest gpu driver.

2. There is a known performance drop specifically with the AMD Ryzen chips compatibility with Windows 11. Some people have reported up to 6x less performance using these AMD cpu's with Windows 11. There is said to be a current fix for this in the insider dev channel but it has not yet rolled out to beta or release as of yet.
