Themes not working

gaming

So I just got curtains and tried a blurr/glass theme but it doesn't work properly, none of the themes do. The only thing that changes is the taskbar and windows color and that's it, it doesn't change the actual thing I want changed. I tried the windows XP theme and same thing only the color changed, I do use windows dark mode but when I toggled it off and back on it didn't work. Not sure what to do now.

What application are those white box at the middle of your Window Explorer with icons on the right? refer to screenshot below. Can you try uninstall those and reboot and see if the theme apply properly.

That would be Classic Shell and may very well be the reason for this.

Check in taskmanager processes tab that CurtainsSrv64.exe is running along with Curtains64.exe.  I suspect they are not and thats the issue here.

For some reason the past couple of days my task manager is all randomized and not a clear cut from background processes, opened programs and windows programs anymore so it's really hard for me to tell if CurtainsSrv64.exe is running.

Click on the "Details" tab at the top of Task Manager.

Then, if the items are not listed alphabetically, click on the "Name" column header to sort them.  Scroll down to the "C"s and look for the Curtains files.

Do you know when a support version is released? I paid for this software in windows 10, but I haven't been able to use it since switching to 11. :/

Also, the title bar is totally transparent.
Yep, Curtains only creates a transparent title bar, although the buttons change correctly.
It also doesn't seem to have a lot of effect on the taskbar ether.

Is there any known fix for this? I spent a lot longer looking for this in the form of a setting than I am willing to admit. :D

Thanks for your help, all!

I am afraid that there is no information about any possible Windows 11 support for a future version of Curtains.

What I can say is Curtains 1.x will not support Windows 11 so should we support Windows 11 in the future it will be a paid upgrade (i.e. a Curtains 2.x) as Curtains 1.x was designed for Windows 10 where it continues to work perfectly.

I'm afraid disabling it is not enough. You have to uninstall it even though that may be inconvenient.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, in what way your theme is not working? Can we have a link to your theme, so we can test the theme out. Is the issue solely on one Theme or any theme?

Thanks

Still, the issue persists.

If you already have uninstalled that 3rd part application and still having issue with Curtains. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.
