Updated Windows & Fences. Unable to enable Fences.

I have a very ancient Asus tablet running Windows. Recently I began using it again. During updates (Windows, Fences, Start 10), Fences was broken. It keeps asking me to update, which downloads, but doesn't install. So, I downloaded manually and installed the update. It also keeps asking me to enable, but won't let me enter the product key. In fact, at the point where I'm supposed to enter the key, it becomes "stuck" with nothing working and I have to use Task Manager to kill the app. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows version in your system. You can use Windows Winver.exe to get Windows full version numbers.
  2. Fences version installed.
  3. Also please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again immediately after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thanks

Will I lose my prior fences setup if I follow those instructions? If so, is there anyway I can back them up? Unfortunately, this device is so old it's not easy to reconstruct how it was previously configured.
