[BUG] Missing first letter when opening Windows 10 search from Start10

from Stardock Forums

This bug appears on Windows 10 when "Replace Start10 search with Cortana search" setting togled on.

Bug appears only when I use Russian keyboard layout.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more no your system.

  1. Windows 10 version numbers, use Windows Winver.exe to get Windows full version numbers.
  2. Start10 version.

I reported what appears to be the same or similar issue in Start11 here.
But I am using English.

1. Windows Version from Winver.exe Windows 10 Home 20H2 19042.1165

2. Start10 version is 1.97

How do you typically start your search? Click on Start button and start typing something to search? I am trying to recreate the issue on my end.

I press Win key on my keyboard and then immediately start typing. For example I press Win and then type Привет. First letter П would be missing on search bar. So I get ривет instead of Привет. 
Hoever this issue does not appear when I use English keyboard layout.

I have had the exact same issue for a looooong time, but never issued a ticket about it. I have finnish keyboard layout in use. I have the latest Start10 version running.

I don’t use the Cortana search anymore so using Start10 implementation fixed the issue I mentioned, but Start10 search does not find everything (if I remember correctly, because Windows search sucks in general) .

Also bought Start11 afterwards and gotta say I like the improvements in that. Better menus visually and felt snappier. Using now the Start11 search implementation that is ok, but still feeling that the search plays dumb. For example, when searching cmd it shows zero results. So how to exactly make the search find everything out there and get most relevant stuff indexed or the indexed stuff to work.. as in be found?
