Start11 v0.55 beta update delivers centered taskbar

Cool feature update in the latest beta build of Stardock's Start11 (www.stardock.com/products/start11).

This is on Windows 10.

This is on Windows 10.

Here's the option:

Features for Windows 11 will keep rolling as well.  Since Windows 11 is still in beta, it's a moving target so we're trying to make sure we don't add something that gets obsoleted right away.

This is great, I hope to see something like this on windows 11 too with start11. From todays update windows 11 is now feature complete and they are focusing on just bug fixes now since its announced to come out on october 5th.

The feature is still in 0.91.  Go to Start11 setting, taskbar page and then click on centre taskbar buttons.  It should expand showing you the options.

Not sure if I'm going blind, but I don't see it. I see the center start button option, but I want to only have the apps centered.

The settings on Windows 11 differ to those on Windows 10.

On Windows 10 the buttons can be centred and the start button remains on the left.  On Windows 11 the start button and taskbar buttons move as one block and are either left aligned or centred.

Centered buttons working on Win10 but have now lost the ability to configure. Explorer crashes when I click on Configure Start 11 in the Start menu but works OK in Object Desktop manager.

Would really love to see a feature added to lock the taskbar really miss that feature.

I like the latest update; there are still a few things I would love to see in the next update. For example, I can only see 4 of them after grouping icons unless I press the tile to open the group. There is a way to force it to show at least six icons, but I would love to see all of them... without that, I feel this feature won't work for my needs unless I force myself to create groups of 6 icons each or don't use the groups at all. That being said, while I was writing this post and going back and forward to make sure I was describing my problem correctly, I noticed there's a feature to add Fences... that is a workaround since I can see all the files/icons I have in each fence acting as a group. The right-clicking is slow, but I guess that will improve over time.

I would be very happy to see a feature to add a custom image or custom icons for groups (no need to show multiple icons, I just want 1 icon to represent each of my groups since I'm faster at reading and relating symbols to categories).

Please keep it up the great work, guys :)

I like Start11 very much. So I feel a bit awkward with a first post containing complaints. But this is the beta forum, so the complaints are intended to be constructive.

I noticed that Object Desktop keeps telling me there's an update after each time I update followed by letting the computer restart. Additionally, sometimes the taskbar is unresponsive on my system.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try uninstall Start11, reboot, download Start11directly from your account/product : https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Use that installer to install Start11. Reboot after the installation is done. Check ODM and see if the issue is gone. Report back.

Thanks

Hi Basj,

Thanks for the troubleshooting steps. After following the suggestion the Start11 ODM status makes more sense. There is a yellow Beta adornment and the action button defaults to "Configure".
