New tab button opens active file in notepad

So, I have some notepad files open in groupy. When I click on the new tab button ('+'), Groupy opens the active tab text file instead of a blank instance of notepad. It only opens blanks instance of notepad if the active tab is unsaved. Is there a keyboard shortcut or setting to force Groupy to open a blank notepad file when the new tab button is clicked?

 

The risk in the way Groupy does this currently is overwriting a file where you unknowingly save new content to a previously saved file. This has happened to me.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Since you opened an instance of the app (a text file for example) that had a command-line entry to a specific file, it opens that file again with the + button.  This was not always the behavior but it is now.

I have requested a new feature that would get around it, like a Ctrl + Click of the + icon to open a blank instance.
