If you mena the columbine school shooting I don't see how this can compare.

First the positives:

Very nice theme idea for the coming Halloween.

The pumpkin was very nice, and quite well drawn.
The sweating effect was very nicely done.
The glass effect, also, very nicely done.
The green background, also, very nicely done.
The strange text effect, with the bevel, and the glass, and the distortions, also very nicely done.

Now, the negatives:

Never criticize another artist to justify your work. Very distasteful.
Never try to align yourself with other great artists. That was the downfall of many good artists. It is similar to The Knack putting down The Beatles, and look how they were viewed.
The image is not centered and makes it sort of displeasing to look at on the desktop.
If this is a Halloween theme, a pumpkin alone does nothing to support the overall theme. A few flying bats, a black cat and maybe a skeleton, would better glorify the theme. As a wallpaper alone, the theme needs to stand out.
Although a very good drawing, the effects do lack originality other than the "sweating look".

Overall:

I would not use it. Because, it is just a very nice pumpkin. It does nothing to really glorify the coming halloween season. The theme is not strong enough just being a pumpkin.

But, it is a very nice drawing overall.If you made a windowblind for this, or/and other supporting skins, I'm sure that this wall would be appreciated. I've seen much less in wallpapers accepted when it was part of an overall theme.

Now, if you had this wall as a logon, and added more to it as the wallpaper(like bats, black cat, and a skeleton), this would be awesome.

My personal overall rating would be an 7-8, in comparison to other wallpapers. Most importantly, DON'T GIVE UP, this is very, very nice.

ChasUGC, its nice but the idea is stolen! I can also go and create a awesome poser figure with 3dsmax stuff, and after effect it in photoshop so it looks like shadowness his work, but I dont!... because it isn't orriginal.

This looks exactly like Jairo's work. That is probably the problem. The problem being originality. A single fruit image has been done, and Jairo holds all the rights in appreciation. "With a rebel yell we cried "more, more, more". Glass the bats, glass the black cat, and glass the skeleton, and I believe this would be a major hit.

Personally, I view much of the negativity to this work as jealousy. Very few artists can mimic Jairo's work as well as this one.
But, the criticism of Jairo has greatly smeared your own work.
Members will defend other members work here. You have probably hurt yourself dearly. I think an apology is in order and it may help.

Zodiaq, the idea is stolen IMO. The image is not so good too.

Looks like its done with a paintbrush, and gradients, and thats it.
What makes it diffrend from jairo's work is that his art is totaly clear, sharp lines etc.

look at his Aqua Flower for example.

ChasUGC...I agree and apologize for the aritistry skills comment. I have Jairo's aqua mellon on my desktop so no disrepect. I was only trying to say that nobody is perfect. I however must have been misunderstood on the comparing artist comments. I am not a VAn Gogh... , I never will be a monet either. I was simply saying this. They both were impressionist. One started it and another admired it and followed suit. In the end they were both great artist. So agian sorry if that was a misunderstanding...

To the guy who said I stole the pumpkin and put it into 3d max... ?????? HUH??? what i didn't get that one. I simply used PS7 and my mouse and wacom. And the background isnt lime green it is highlighted because to me that is more desktop friendly than a darker color. But your right I see the improvments I can make on this.

Oh no, I admited in my description that it was an admiration of the aqua work, I said he was doing fruit and this was a vegtable. To be very realistic here the only thing that is "very similiar" to jairo's work is the light frosting highlight on the pumpkin. The other Aqua effects are totally different. And jairo's color combinations with his gradient technique is excellent compared to the level I am at. I think he would make a great tutorial on that.

I think it's brave of Naitsirch to put this on publicly. I'd say please be a bit more generous with each other. Good criticism will make work better. In my opinion there is no resemblance with Jairo's work whatsoever. Keep trying Naitsirch, you'll get there.

Ok, radial ruined my hayday, with the freehand thing maybe, thing is, what does drawing freehand and drawing on a computer have in common, most don't use their pencil to put happy tree's in there renderings...and freehand art is something you generally see "scanned" in (yes i know what a wacom is, but mouse on wacom?), the only other thing I wondered about was the he uses shapes thing, dunno....

On that side note, and there always is one lol, especially with me....you owe an apology to 2 people, the first one i'd make a point to apologize to is jafo, jairo deserves an apology just as much if not more,but whoah, don't wanna piss jafo off, especially if your work ever wants to say "hello" on this site lol. I'd touch on your other work but i gotta get to school in 20 min so maybe later biggest thing is to keep on keeping on.
