objectdock 0.99 not displaying properly

When I hover my mouse on the dock, the icons seem to disappear. Its like there's only a small square of visible area and as i hover my mouse from left to right, they disappear behind this "window". It looks OK when I'm not hovering my mouse on it.

My screen res is 1280x1024, XP pro. any thoughts are welcome. Same thing happens with other dock programs. I am up-to-date with my video driver. Thanks.

How 'bout a screenshot. You can upload it as your desktop.

I uploaded a screen shot of objectdock acting up during mouse hover in the screenshot section. Thanks. Do you have any idea what would cause it?

Don't have a clue where you uploaded to....open 'Edit Account' and upload it as your desktop. When you click on your Nick it will show there.

Can't say I've ever seen it do that.....you might want to try going into OD config/appearance and toggle screen position to 'on top' 'on bottom' 'z-order normal'. Also in appearance tweaks play with the two 'effects' settings......

giyorg, try a different dock bacground and a different dock theme altogether. Make sure you don't have a separator in there that may be essentially a .blank png or .ico ....It also may have to do with the bacground ini file stretching or tiling the background image incorrectly. in any case if you use a whole different background & theme I have a feeling you wont have the problem anymore.............Let us know what you find out. I'm real curious.

By unchecking the taskbar function.

I just found a related problem. When I try to drag a desktop icon, it doesnt appear to be dragged (its not following my mouse cursor), but once I release the mouse button, the icon reappears in that position. I feel that this is related to the problem I'm having. If any of you can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey giyorg, did you ever get this problem resolved? Turns out I'm having the *exact same* issue. None of the solutions above worked for me either and I also have that icon dragging wierdness.

What type of video card are you running? I'm wondering if maybe that's what we have in common and it's a hardware/driver issue or something. I'm running a NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650.

Good news! I decided to look into the disappearing icon issue more thinking it had somthing to do with it. Turns out it is a common problem with new Dell systems. I found a solution to it here:

Fixing the icon problem also fixes the ObjectDock problem.

cool. Thanks peterclark. I'l try this out tomorrow.

Blame it on my overtaxed brain to not remember the exact video card on my system but as far as I can recall its an NVIDIA GeForce FX.

If it worked on your Dell system then I'm quite certain it would work on mine as well. I'll keep you posted.
