Adding or removing items from quick-hide fails.

I have Fences Pro 1.1.0.419. Since quite some time I can't add or remove additional items (icons) from the quick hide desktop option. In the right click menu from my desktop the line "exclude this item from ....  or "include this item from ..." is still present (with or without) a checkmark, but I can't add or remove an item when I L-click on the line in the menu.

Afraid of loosing settings I prefer not to reinstall the program. I tried to (over) install the program but the problem remains. Can I look up the file or the registry line where this setting is stored ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, from what I understand it is best to upgrade to Fences V3 to be compatible with current versions of Windows.

Thanks

Could do that indeed but: As far as to be able to be compatible with new versions, I'll just stick to my W7 for now.  1) is it free this Fences V3 ? 2) Do I have to remove my actual version ? 3) Might I not loose all my settings ?

This setting where the program refers to to hide are not hide an icon from quick-hide, why is it such a secret to tell where this is done ? Registry or file or both ?

Thank you

  1. No it is not free, you will need to purchase a new key for Fences V3
  2. It is best to remove the old version first, just to be sure.
  3. I have never use Fences V1 or V2, but I know you can backup your Layout Snapshot in V3 : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#backupsnapshots.
