Drop125, either you're having serious brain-fart or you are missing the portion of your brain that uses common sense. mIRC is an IRC client that connects to a server of your choosing. It's primary function is not downloading movies/music. It's like saying the RIAA should go after AOL because they have illegal chat rooms where file sharing occurs. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you just don't know how IRC works...but please, next time you decide to post something atleast make sure you know what you are talking about. You won't get flamed as much for it.

You know, you can get on the chats here with SDC or the SkinBrowser. You don't need mIRC.

Thats what I have been saying IIII DO NOT USE IRCs Because everyone I know that uses them does illoeage DLs Hence the reason I dont use them....I never once said I was some kinda IRC wiz.....And you know I thought Karma Girl said enough of the personal attacks.....Maybe if someone had shown me a proper way to use IRCs I would not have a problem..Just like Guns..Not everone uses them to kill ppl but, some do that is why I do not own guns....I wouldnt want my kid to use it to kill his freind on accident...This is why Im wondering why not once the RIAA has never mentiuoned IRC....The amount of ppl I have met at school not one has ever said.."OH I use mIRC to chat" they all say "I use mIRC to get My MP3s and Movies....I realize trhat yes their are other "Chat Areas " depending on where you log on..But Ive never met anyone who uses it to chat..So that is my ? Why is IRC never mentioned for chatting always for DLs...This is my experience with it....and the ppl I know..School is huge ASU is a large campus in Tempe Az..So why have I not met anyone who uses it properly..??? I've been using mIRC for 4 years, in a variety of different channels (chatrooms), and strangely enough all I've ever done is chat to ppl, about things, and sometimes stuff.

Drop, I just started using mIRC because it lets me monitor 2 chats at the same time. These are the only chats that I'am on. I don't steal. Sorry that you think I do, but all mIRC users are not thieves.

Yes,Im not accusing all who use IrcS FOR Stealing, and I dont think ppl here do...My experiences are that a very large majority of users do use it for dl purposes,Like I said ..In person I have not yet met anyone who uses it just for chat.....Im not refering to ppl of wincust...Just ppl I actually meet in public as in not on a chat forum...Hence the reason I DO NOT USE OR MESS WITH IRCs...

Brainiac - have you tried using a different nick? Are you using any unusual characters in your nick such as '/' ?
