many shortcut missing

After I installed OBJECT MANAGER/FENCES only 35 shortcuts are shown. That's less than half the shortcuts I had before  installinng FENCES. I'd like to get them back.

I had already uninstalled fences before I read your reply.

Now, following your reply...

It says

Please follow this link:

http://sd.stardock.com/zubaz/apps/Purge_Fences.bat

I click that and it goes nowhere.

End of cellistphil's quote

The link downloads the bat file when you click on it , check your downloads.

that's all the link dows , and a Purge is different than a regular uninstall .

I ran Purge_Fences.bat and Fences is still not totally uninstalled.

My immediate issue is that my 100 shortcuts are all pushed to the left of the desktop and I'm having trouble finding ones that I use a lot. I had them more-or-less grouped in clusters that set them apart from the less used, but Fences re-arranged them.

I purchased Fences a couple days ago, I have a license key. Does that entitle me to support? My issue seems to be a relatively fundamental function that should not require a deep-level knowledge of the software. I don't mean to criticize or disparage the community support, but the issue is really making it difficult for me to use shortcuts that I was totally able to use before installing Fences. Do I need to open a ticket and if so how do I do that?

Thanks. cellistphil.

Hello,

Please try disable "Auto arrange Icons" and set Sort by to "None" on your Desktop right click menu. Do that and report back.

Thank you,

1. I unchecked "Auto Arrange Icons". I guess that's the same as disable.

It doesn't show sort by "None" as an option. I chose sort by. The icons aren't sorted by name. Nothing on the desktop changed position.showing desktop sort options

2. I posted my previous message (the one you replied to) on  5/1. I didn't get an email message saying that someone had replied. I've look in my Inbox, my Spam (aka "Junk") and my folder for Unknown senders.

Hello,

Please try the cleanboot steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot. Try that and report back. See if the "Sort by-> None" appear when you do that.

Thank you,

I give up. You win. My only recourse is to write a letter; maybe I'll get a response from corporate.

Hello,

I am sorry, we are still trying to help you here. If you wish to write a letter to try to solve your issue, do know, Stardock is practicing Forum support. So, you're suppose to get help from here.

If you wish still to continue here, did you do the cleanboot as I mentioned in my Reply#9? I asked you to do it, because to make sure there is no corrupted admin account and to see if there is something blocking Fences from loading. Notice there is no "Configure Fences" menu item on your screenshot. That shows that Fences might not loaded properly.

Also, please check your Task Manager if Fences is set to load upon startup twice, something like screenshot below.

Thank you,

You will not see 'None':

If Fences is not installed or enabled.

Once you have it installed, and if you seem to be missing icons, please see:

If you still have issues after, let me know here, please.

In reply to Basj and AzDude and sdRohan and anyone else who wishes to chastise me for purchasing Fences: apparently I'm violating the rules for getting support from Stardock, but I've come to two places because one advised me to contact the other. I now have another open issue, whichI posted here. Should I expect a response here? Or at the other site?
