Fences will not run after an install on my windows 10 laptop

My computer upgraded to ver 20H2 of windows 10 and now fences crashes explorer after installing and when it comes up for the first time. I purchased this back in 2015 and it has been working fine since then. Is there any fixes for this.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows full version numbers. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.
  2. Fences version.
  3. Please review this solutions and see if it applies on your situation too. Try it if it is and report back : https://forums.stardock.com/494392/get;3780664

Thanks

I have tried this twice and nothing has changed. I downloaded latest version from the website, turned off antivirus, signed in as a new user with administrator security, everything I could think of and suggested by others.

Have you tried this solution?

BTW can you share your security software installed? Is this Corporate System?

Thank you,

I am using Norton 360 with Life Lock. It was working before my laptop upgraded windows to 20H2. I am thinking Microsoft has done something to cripple your product.

I don't think there is compatibility issue between Fences V3 with Microsoft Windows Version 20H2. Since I am running it on my system without any issue. And, I believe, if it actually is, we will have lots more people reporting in about it.

But, we do have reports on issue with Antivirus doing something to block Fences from working properly. Could you try, uninstalling Norton 360, reboot and see if that work with Fences.

Thank you,

Nothing suggested as of yet has worked. Must be something weird on my computer. I will try loading it on my desktop even though I do not need it there because it is my backup computer but it has windows 10 on it and I will see what it does. Other than that I guess I will have to live without it.

Just so you know it appears to work when it first loads but after you move around some icons into fences it starts screwing up explorer and eventually disables fences and I have icons on the desktop like they would be in the fences but I can't enable fences or it repeats its issue so I am removing it for now. Sorry, it was a good tool. I purchased it on my first windows Laptop which had windows 8 on it so I am a long time user. I would recommend it to anyone as long as they don't have the issues I have with it.

Thanks all for your help.
