How to Fix Fences 3 so that it remains above the Deskscapes UI

Hi all,

How does one configure deskscapes so that Fences 3 remains visible on top?

Right now -- and the screenshot doesn't do a good job -- Fences 3 is blurred and dark and seems to be behind the deskscapes wallpaper -- pls help.

Hey AzDude,

Cheers for the reply!  I followed your instructions above; however, the result did not change for me :(

As you can see in the photo below, Fences and icons are still in the background, or are severely greyed out that I have to turn off deskscape.

I value more Fences than Deskscape; but it's a shame because I bought the Object Desktop to be able to utilize all the programs.

 Hello ,

Next step is try both programs in a Clean Boot situation .

To see if there are 3rd party issues causing your problem.

Would you Please do a Clean Boot:https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot

Is it possible you have somehow enabled the settings in Deskscapes to fade desktop icons?

Only thing in settings is this - see image - try uncheck that and test .

DeskScape App - Settings

Hello,

Please check in Fences 3 Setting -> Color & Appearance -> Background Style and Color -> All Fences -> Slide the "Transparency" all the way to the right. If there are still Fences that have gray out icons and background. Go to each Fences Click on that 3 line menu button -> View-> Opacity -> Select 100%(Fully visible). Try that and report back.

Thank you,

Hi, thanks again for the reply.

As I already mentioned above, the setting for opacity is 100% (visible).

In Deskscape, the background blurring setting for Fences option does not make it better.

I have already done the clean boot before; it seems it is a defective product.

Hello,

In the DS app click on the Advanced Tab  then Slider Bars  ?

Try moving it a little and if needed a little more and see

if that helps your issue .

Report back , please .

Hi, as mentioned above, I have already set the transparencies for both Deskscape and Fences to 100% visibility -- the result was the screenshot I posted yesterday.

If you uninstall DS, reboot, do you still have issues?

Already did it 3 times, Sean, for both deskscape and fences 3.0 -- do you offer remote support?

I can show you that I have taken all the steps

Then it's not DS that is causing your issues nor would we expect it to.

We do not.

You have had Fences 3 for some time so no doubt this has not always been like this - that something has changed and its now in this state, yes?

After you do the purge, reboot, and if you are comfortable with looking in your registry:

Is there a Fences entry still here:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock

If so, delete it, reinstall Fences, and see if you still have the issue.
