[BUG] File sorting not working correctly for shortcut files

Hey,

i am using Fences version 3.0.9.11 on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 x64. While working mostly as expected, maybe aside from the messy settings dialogue, i found one thing that seems to be a real bug.

I created several fences on my desktop and assigned several file types to them using the default filters and just changing the target fence. That works for all files so far except Shortcuts. I used the pre-defined filter for this as a manually created one and another manually created where i also manually added the file type extensions (lnk, url).

Strangely, it seems to work for URL shortcuts but not for LNK ones!

Could reproduce this on two other PCs and even a new installation did not change anything.

Any idea what is wrong? Asking on the forums since you no longer seem to accept technical tickets ... =(

Greetings from Germany,

Tim

Hello Basj,

unfortunately i do not have the time and means to do a video currently (pandemic and what not) and was just looking for a quick tip to continue working.

Yet, it is REALLY easy: i set up two Fences, let's call it "A" and "B". I then set the default filter for shortcuts to send them to Fence "A" but they are send to Fence "B" instead. Sending files and folders only using the default filters works correctly for all file types except shortcuts (LNK).

That's all already.

okay, try to steps/describe what filter did you setup for that "A" and "B" What criteria was set so we can try to recreate it on our end.

Thank you,

I tried and it work for me. Here is what my rule setting look like. 2 rules, With shortcut with link start with S and any other shortcut move to the other fence.

Thank you,
