I am using the latest version of windowblinds 10.84 and windows 10 build 20H2 and every time i try to apply a skin windows crashes, i get black screen and it logs me out and i can not log back in. If i try  it logs me out again. Do you know about this and are you working on a fix?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.

  1. Windows version full version numbers. You should use Microsoft Winver.exe for full version numbers.
  2. Did it ever work before updating? if yes, which update, Windowblinds or Windows?

Thanks

Yes it has worked but it has always worked, and i have not updated anything for a time, full version numer is: 20H2 19042.685. It is so strange because i used it like normal and then i wanted to try curtains and after that i could not load windowblinds anymore.

After you install Curtains, does Curtains work?

Anyway, please try purge and reinstall Windowblinds as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling. Make sure to reboot after the purge, re-download the latest installer from your account. Reinstall Windowblinds using that latest installer. Reboot again after the install. Retest and report back.

Yes curtains worked but my problem started after i removed curtains and wanted to go back to windowblinds. What if it does not work after i have purged windowblinds, then i have to format my computer again to get back in? By the way, i have no problem installing windowblinds the problem starts when i applay a skin. My system is clean now from everything since i had to format it to get back into it.

You do not need to remove/uninstall Curtains to make Windowblinds to work. It both can be installed at the same time. They will close each other out when you pick which theme to apply.

As you said Windowblinds no longer work. So its best to purge it and reinstall.

I have been trying to tell you that my system is clean now, i have formated the system so i have nothing in it, not curtains or anything since i can not boot it up when after using a skin, should i still purge it anyway?

I am afraid that i have to format my computer again if i try to install it and it fails since it has happend two times already.

I am confused. You said its a fresh clean installed. You installed Windowblinds. Reboot. No problem? And Apply skin? Which skin? Any specific skin? Is the skin known to be good? Have you tried skin that come with Windowblinds?

I asked you to do the purge is because I want to make sure  you have a good install of Windowblinds. The purge will only remove Windowblinds items. Your Windows will not be effected. Once the purge be done. Your Windows should be clean from Windowblinds. Reinstall and reboot again. To see if the problem still the same. If it is the same, than something else is blocking Windowblinds from working. We will recommend something else then.

I have not done any of that yet since i am afraid that my computer will crash again if i do it as it has the last two days. If that happens how will i get back into windows? I just get to the login screen, the skin i tried to use is this:https://www.deviantart.com/danioc/art/Arsenic-160705761 it has always worked for me before when i used it.

Arsenic should be fine.

To tell you the truth, I ever have issue installing Windowblinds into my system since 2000. But if you wish, you can do DiskImage of your System Drive.
