Start10 purge

I want to remove Start10 from my pc as I really do not like the poor menu when you right click on the Start button, issue is even after removing Start10 some of these changes are still here.

I read on the forum that you need to use this bat file to purge the system of this program (http://sd.stardock.com/zubaz/apps/Purge_StartALL.bat) but the download is dead.

Is there anther way I can remove everything to do with start10 without wiping Windows?

Thanks

You can make the right click menu when you right click on the start button the same as the default OS one if you want with Start10.

Open Start10 settings, click the desktop option, then advanced button and tick show Win+X menu when right clicking the start button at the bottom of the screen.

Same problem here - uninstalled in Steam, ran (as admin) the bat file in the FAQ, restarted, but right click on a desktop shortcut still has pin to start (start10) option?

Can you send us an image, please?

Also, are there files left here:

\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start10

or here:

\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Start10

I see some echo commands in the batch file which never appeared when I ran it so looks like it didn't run properly?

It also looks to me like the bat file maybe assumes install on C:, which for me is a paltry 500GB boot drive, so I install all Steam apps on a 1TB SATA SSD and the Start10 folder is still there e.g.

"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\TaskbarTextures"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\Uninstall"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\DeElevate.exe"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\DeElevate64.exe"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\DeElevator.dll"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\DeElevator64.dll"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\Default.spak"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\GroupPolicy"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\lang"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\Links"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\MenuTextures"
"E:\QVO ROOT\Temp Installs\steamapps\common\Start10\StartButtons"

etc.

Steam must know where the app was installed - it seems odd to me that the Steam uninstall missed this folder.

I'm guessing the pin to start10 option still appears in the right click menu because the registry commands in the bat file probably didn't execute either.

I'm thinking as a workaround I could reinstall on C: then uninstall again. If that cleans up the registry I can manually delete the folder on E:

Understood.

The registry entries are located at:

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8

That is not a typo, Start10 uses the old Start8 name.
