Start Button High DPI

So I installed Curtains on a 4k system that regularly switches between remote desktop at 1920x1200 and 4k (HTPC).

I added an existing Start10 button to an I removed the button from an existing theme so Start10 could control the Start button instead.  However, said button is tiny in 4k but fine at 1920x1200.

What steps do I need to take to add a version of the Start10 button to the Curtains theme that's appropriate for 4k?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Curtains start button will scale up, if you increase your Windows Display property scale. i.e 150%. 200% etc. My 27" monitor 4K monitor will have more or less same size Start button as my 1920x1200 monitor when I set to 150% scale.

Thanks

I was incorrect in my original post so I have edited it.

removed the button from a Curtains style so it would let Start10 control the button instead.

This is what happened.

Hello,

You should have disable Curtains to style Startbutton by disable this option and Start10 will take over the Start button

OK I've determined that Curtains isn't the issue (deleting the style's button and/or changing the button override takes it out of contention).

Start10 is just not scaling its images (even ones that are included with the software).

This can be moved to the Start10 forum if possible.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

I solved the problem-ish.

Perhaps there is some kind of automated selection of the "large" files for the images included with the program.

However, this was a community image.

The solution was to use a transparency-aware editor to double the size of the original image.  Save that, and tell Start10 to load the new enlarged image.

No more tiny Start button.

EDIT: The huge button shows in Remote Desktop mode.
