Groupy - 1.45 (Beta) Issue Report Thread

With the Groupy 1.45 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the beta:

Object Desktop members can get the beta from within Object Desktop Manager with 'show beta downloads' enabled:

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page:

Reporting an issue:

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and links included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that Groupy does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Changelog for 1.45

  • Fixed working directory on saved groups
  • Fixed issue with white title bars when color applied to title bars in Win10 causing white menus and non obvious active tabs in combine mode
  • Fixed issue with UWP apps sometimes not joining a group
  • Groups locked status is now saved in Groupy files
  • Renamed tabs are now saved in the Groupy file

  • Rename tab / save group now takes escape = cancel and enter = save to make using with keyboard easier
  • Default to selecting all text when renaming a tab to make life easier
  • When re-saving a previously saved (and executed) Groupy file, the name is now offered by default to save time
  • Fixed issue with auto-grouping an application when the same application had been launched for a specific group within the past 2 minutes as well.
  • Fixed potential issue with rules for a window no longer being applied after a set time period

This beta does not fix problems I've been having since 1.44 with new windows not automatically grouping.

The only program I have set to do this is Notepad2. When I open a second instance, it opens on top of the first, and the title bar of the first instance goes blank, but the windows do not group. Grouping them manually works fine.

Yes, automatic grouping works fine if I check that box. Good to know I can use that as a work-around for now, but I prefer to only see tabs if there are multiple windows.

v1.45 Beta did not fixed my problem however, "Always show tabs for this type of window" did the trick.
