Help Wanted: Skins / GUI Designer

(I'm not sure if this is a proper place to put this, but I don't know of anywhere else to find qualified Windows art designers. If this is not proper to place here, please have admin of board remove this posting. Thanks)

OSA Technologies (http://www.osatechnologies.com) is looking for skins, icons and/or GUI desiger for our latest managability software application scheduled to be bundled and launched beginning of next year in over a couple million computers. We are searching for someone who is talented and experienced in designing icons, display panels, and overall dialog layout.

Those on-board our team will not only GET PAID (by project, period, term, etc..) but will also have the satisfaction to see their masterpieces on over MILLIONS desktop and notebook computer per year worldwide.

Interested applicants should send an email to job@osatechnologies.com.tw with the following enclosed:
1. Self introduction (photo and age would be nice to include, though not necessary)
2. Recent works and porfolio
3. Samples of past skins, icons or GUI design for other application.
4. A short paragraph on what you think makes your design unique and what you find to be important factors when designing skins.
5. Your method / rate of charge.

Personally I would discuss this or any offers first hand with some of the people that have been doing this for a period of time and have past experience in doing commercial projects before sending anyone any of my art work or design.

Nothing personal, but people walking in the wilderness of Digital Art and unknown job offers blind generally end up walking off of cliffs.

There is a process followed that the ones already doing this type of work have set for themselves so they limit the chances of taking that last step only to find the earth isn't under their feet anymore and their hard work is now in anothers hands.

Anyone remember that one company that was putting together GUI's to be compiled into applications that happened to have about 50 of the skins from peoples work which they claimed was their own and charging out the yang for it without any of the creators knowldge?

Vic, this isn't anything against you or your offer. But I do remember not only the one instance I mentioned but a number of others I have read about in the past. I do not know you in the least so could not say anything about you or OSA, but I do know these people here and would/do not want any of them harmed in any way which is why I've posted this. Good luck in your venture and I hope everything works and that some real good comes from your offer for all concerned including those here who take you up on it...

I agree with manni......Pixtudio, Skinplant and not forgeting The Skins Factory. All three of these have web sites and you can view them and get an idea of the work they do and some of the work that they have done for some very large commercial organisations. If you are looking for some Icons as well the best in the business are Paul Boyer at FauxS-X, Jairo Boudewyn and Fooods Icons.

All in my humble opinion i hasten to add as there are many more top artists which I have not mentioned who most probably deserve to be listed as well

Thank you for your suggestions. All of those artists' work looks great. I will contact them and see if they are available for our project.

Thank you for your valid comments and I do believe you were sincere in expressing your true feelings. We have always been working with artists who exist close to our vicinity, but the "skins" that they can produce are not what I would have considered good enough compaired with what I have seen from many of the talents found in this website. This is the reason I posted here although I had a feeling my credibility would be doubted. In contrast, I was also concerned that I might meet someone who showed me designs of their work when it is actually others. I hesitated to post on here for a couple day, but finally did so thinking that I may or may not meet someone who is truely talented, or needed that special break. To be honest, I don't know what will happen, and maybe I won't meet anyone special. But, everything is always worth a shot, life is full of surprised, you'd never know.

Just to clarify for my sake of putting myself in this predicament, OSA Technologies is actually a legit company, and people could find tons of information about our company on google.com by typing "OSA Technologies". I will contact those "pros" that those two fine gentlemen above have suggested, but am still interested in seeing if anyone is interested too.

Vic, no disrespect meant in the least and there are others here whom are not at the moment doing commercial work that are more than qualified for just such a venture with those included by manni and Leo in this thread.

My mentioning of seeking input for these people was only to protect them really.

As I stated before, I honestly do hope this works out for you and whom ever happens to be a part of it

Exposure of talent and additions to skill sets and resume is always a good thing without a doubt.

I do apologize if there was any slight read into my previous post, and also if it is in fact there when it was never meant to be.

Many thanks to IPlural, Leo and Manni. I have finally aquired the talents of one of those that you have suggested above to work on our projects. I guess coming here to post was the right thing to do after all. IPlural, all is good, no apoligies needed.
