Fences very slow to display the desktop icons

I am a registered user.

I use Fences on my desktop and Laptop Windows 10 Pro for a long time already.
For some time now, when I re-display the desktop (Windows + D), the icons take 30 seconds to reappear, and if I disable Fences then the display is immediate. I have uninstalled Fences with your .bat file and reinstalled it but the problem persists...

(I also increased the size of the icon cache in Windows)

 Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your systems.

  1. Windows full version numbers. Please use Winver.exe for it.
  2. Fences version.
  3. Is your system on Corp environment? Do you have Forcepoint installed? If not, please provide information on your AV(AntiVirus) or Security software installed.

Thanks

Do you see the same issue if you use Win+M (Minimize all Windows)?

Hello,

I have done all the steps mentioned above (except that I could not disable FireEye Endpoint Security: xagt.exe), then uninstalled with your Purge_Fences script and installed the product.

The problem still persists!

I have been using your software for a long time without any problem on my Windows 10 desktop and laptop, and it is only recently that this problem appeared simultaneously on my 2 machines.
It's as if a Windows Update caused this malfunction which is very penalizing in my daily work, so I have to disable Fences very often!

Can't you just test on a Windows 10 Pro computer to see if this happens?

Regards.

Hello,

I am looking at your FireEye Endpoint Security, and I believe this is the issue. Looking at how people are comparing it with Forcepoint : https://www.trustradius.com/compare-products/fireeye-security-suite-vs-forcepoint-web-security . I would assume it has very similar issue with Fences. Please try if you could get your tech support to whitelist Fences in your FireEye, so Fences could do its job.

Hello,

When working in a big company contact the tech support to add a new software in a whitelist is a real challenge!

So unfortunately, I have to find another software to organize my desktop (ToolBox from Cylog Software works properly) and forget about Fences, but I suggest you to improve it to work properly anyway, because basically it's not blocked... and if not you will lost customers.

Thanks.

Nice one! I agree with this, though you can also reach out to the companies support team, you can also do you own research on how to solve the issue. It'll be better if you can try to find out which one is the issue. You can also try reprogramming your computer/laptop first, then see what will happen.
