DesktopX was running great until I updated. Advice please...

Hi! I was using 1.3, then 1.98(d)b and was sailing along just fine. Any version after that crashes on startup. Even the newly released 2.0 beta.
Things I've tried: install over 1.3
Install over 1.98
Uninstall all DesktopX and install new version(s).
None of this works.
Using WinXP SP1, am subscribed, am trying all this without windowblinds, etc.

I would certainly appreciate some assistance.

I'm not sure.  My suggestion would be to uninstall DesktopX and then go and find the DX directory and remove that. The uninstaller doesn't remove your current or other themes. It could be your current theme is giving it problems.

When it crashes, what error are you getting?

The error I'm getting is: missing export SHELL32.DLL:SHGetFolderLocation.

The error I am getting is not as listed by Gregory2001.
The error is the WindowsXP error saying DesktopX.exe has to close, sorry for the inconvenience. I have emailed the complete history with error file to KarmaGirl
