CursorFX - no working well with High DPI

I have applied cursorFX and have 3 monitors.  1 HDPI and 2 normal.   When I apply the cursor, looks good on the normal monitors.  But on the High DPI monitor looks way too big.

Anyone with the same problem or a workaround?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.

2) CursorFX version.

3) More information on monitors : Resolutions, Scaling Applied to each (100%,125%,150% etc) and connection type on each, DVI, HDMI, DP, USB, VGA etc etc.

4) Is the issue happen on all Cursor Styles/Themes or only on some. If on some please list down which styles/themes?

Hello Basj!

1. Microsoft Windows version (OS BUILD 19041.450)

2. CursorFX 4.03

3.  Info on the monitors:

Resolutions:

- On device monitor:  2736x1824, built-in,  200% (Hi DPI)

- External Monitor:  2560x1080, USB-C, 100%

- External Monitor:  1366x768, VGA, 100%

4. Happens on all type of mouse pointers.

I've tried making it smaller on the external monitors, but with no effect on the built in monitor.

Please try this. Open up for CursorFX configuration. Move it to your Hi DPI monitor if it not already on it. Adjust the Cursor size there while its inside the Hi-DPI monitor. Hit apply. Does the size shrink down?

Thank you,

Sorry I'm late!

I found a workaround!

You must do this every time you reboot windows though... and it does not have animated cursor support (animation will freeze)

- find CursorFX.exe
- Right Click
- Properties
- Compatibility
- Tick Override High DPI Scaling Behaviour
- Scaling Performed by: Application
- Apply Save Exit
- Reboot PC
- Start CursorFX
- Select Your Cursor & Set Correct Size
- Open Task Manager (Right Click Taskbar or press CTRL+ALT+DELETE)
- Details
- End CursorFX + CursorFXConfig exes

Cursor size will freeze across all displays no matter what.

Hoping this will contribute towards the devs being able to program in some sort of freeze function while simultaneously maintaining animation support.

Hope this helps people who were as frustrated as myself on size change / flickers / etc.
