Changing an Icon's icon

Can it scupper fences snapshot restore

Hi peeps,

I have a problem, a couple of saved snapshots are not restoring to their original saved positions. I tried a few things but nothings worked.

Tonight I had a thought, when this all started, I has just installed a Dropbox app to sync "My PC" to be saved as a backup everyday, it has changed all the icons with a sync decal addition (or a tick decal) like the twist arrow you get with a shortcut icon.

Question...........does changing an icon's picture file stop Fences from restoring the positions of icons either on desktop where they were saved and in the Fence windows ? as the icon info may have changed.

Its going to be annoying if I have to keep organising my desktop and re-save every time

Ta :¬)

Hi, thanks for the link. I see now that the path to the icons is in a Dropbox drawer so it can update/sync each time one is added or deleted.

That kinda answers my question but in a different way.

Hopefully, once I have re-organised my desktop and fences, unless I uninstall dropbox sync and then reinstall I won't have to fiddle around again.

Thanks...............Jubbs99

EDIT....07/2021.... Having delved into dropbox sync I have discovered that the snyc drawer is actually what is displayed on desktop and the old desktop is that, an old desktop folder on C: drive with not much there just the basics.

Is Fences able to save to a different folder and restore from that folder ? I can't see anything like that in the menu lists.
