Start10 1.95 Beta Issue Report Thread

With the Start10 1.95 beta release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the beta:

Object Desktop members can get the beta from within Object Desktop Manager with 'show beta downloads' enabled:

Reporting an issue:

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and links included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that Start10 does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Start10 1.95 Beta Changelog

  • Addresses missing control panel search entries on Windows build 2004
  • Some UI changes to account for Stardock Curtains
  • Fix to avoid crash issue with newer Curtains builds
  • Tweaks how blur is handled on the menu in an effort to address a mixed dpi setup issue
  • Tweak for the replace Start10 search with Cortana option to reduce the instances of lost/misordered first char in the search

still getting first 2 characters swapped when typing at normal speed... if the first character is a number then it's simply ignored..

I can reproduce the number issue and we will look to fix that.  With regards to the other issue, unfortunately you will need to type slightly slower then.  You are too quick for your computer to start up Cortana.

Hello,

I have an issue with a fully updated Windows 10 Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.388)

Right click on This PC - choose "Manage" does nothing.

 

I can of course still open Computer Management by typing compmgmt.msc in the search bar or cmd prompt.

After using Start10 for quite a while, I found some issues that are minor but could be fixed.

1) context menu handler is always english string if outside of the opened start10 menu (if I stay inside opened menu it will be translated),
2) I'm unsure about it but pinning to start10 is assigned to .lnk / .exe / .bat files - I think it should be more flexible in term of enabling support for more type of files (like Steam shortcuts) or disabling what we don't need (I removed .bat support myself via regedit),
3) Making shortcuts of UPW apps via RMB -> SendTo -> Desktop will produce valid shortcuts but will super low resolution icon (probably 16x16) it's valid for stock and 3rd party apps,
4) Running UWP apps from dedicated Start10 menu will produce low res icon on Recently launched panel (not always),
5) Submenu is not always working for stock Windows 10 UPW apps like Settings, however it will work fine with apps like WinRAR, Origin etc.
6) Settings and Control Panel are using same icon (right side menu - in the box where avatar is showing).

I had those issues since forever? I tested each version (trying to be up-to-date) however none of it fixed that.
For making UPW apps shortcuts I need to use to stock start menu.

BTW where I can send my proper translation for Start10?
