Fences Not Appearing on Startup or Reboot

Hi,

I've noticed that when I reboot or start up my computer, I see no icons or Fences as if I had my Fences hidden by a double click. However, a double click does not make them appear. The only way I know to have them appear is to right click on my empty desktop and they will appear.

Am I missing a setting somewhere that is causing this?

I am running the latest version of Object Desktop and Fences. I'm running it on Windows 10 Pro Build 1909.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

@Basj,

Thanks for your reply. Quick hide is enabled but none of the other options are checked. See the attached.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you.

I ran the purge and followed the instructions. Same result. Boot up yields no Fences until I right click on the empty desktop, then the Fences and icons appear.

Are both Fences enabled in task manager ?

That was it! Somehow both services had been disabled in Startup. All working now. Thank you!

I have exactly the same problem after upgrading to Windows 11.  Worked perfectly in Windows 10, but will not now appear until I right click the desktop.  Have checked all the above resolutions and none work.  Every setting discussed is enabled as suggested.  Any suggestions please?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, Fences is not fully compatible with Windows 11 yet.

Thanks

Having the same problem.  Fences IS enabled in startup.  Somehow it appears this is being turned off.  Going to try a restart and check.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just to be sure, you need Fences to be enabled in Startup twice. Do you see both of it in the Taskmanager startup listing?

Thank you.

Every time I start computer, Fences is 'disabled' in startup.  I open task manager go to startup and enable them again only to encounter the same problem on a restart.

I would suspect something in your system is turning that off. Try looking into your security or system cleaner settings.
