Groupy is preventing excel from closing properly

bug

So im pretty new to working with excel, thus i just now discovered this.   I was opening worksheets, and no matter what i did my worksheet count kept going up up up up.

The process was never closing properly.  Closing via task manager causes the worksheet count to go back to book1, and the perpetual countup begins anew.

after disabling all add-ins, i tracked it down to groupy.   this only happens if using groupy to tab excel AND opening a new worksheet by clicking the + on the groupy tab bar.  If i open an excel worksheet, then open another instance via a start menu shortcut and manually merge them, no problem.

If i have "auto group these types of windows" and open another instance via shortcut - still no problamo.

This only happens when opening another instance of excel by using the + on the tab bar to do so.

Bug that i hope can be addressed as its a huge part of groupy's allure after all :)  Very convenient feature but exceptionally janky having to close out excel via task manager regularly.

Thought it might be other office apps as well, however does not seem to be the case.   Just Excel.
