Black Screen KVM

Another black screen problem

I've been looking at the forum trying to find a HowToFix my problem with the black screen, but the ways they used does not work.

Multiplicity shows exactly this screen when I succes to connect to my remote laptop: https://prnt.sc/rzsy1b

I have tried to disable the firewall, the antivirus, and also I have tested all the security options on the remote Multiplicity, and also at the primary computer.

Laptop model: Dell Latitude 6430

OS: Windows 10 Pro (updated from Windows 7 Pro original)

Graphics #1: Intel HD 4000

Graphics #2: nVidia NVS 5200

All the drivers are updated

Another remote software tested & working: Ra#m##, Te##Vi####, A#yD### (hidden by #, I don't wqant to build ads here).

Thank you basj, yes, this is one of the posts that I was reading, I have the same problem the RedneckDude that he has, and he was not answered.

One extra point is that when I opent he KVM on the primary computer and I press the Start Meny key (on my primary keyboard), the Secondary/slave computer opens the start menu.

I have everything updated, OS & Drivers, the other remote controls are not installed at the moment.

I have tried also, connecting the TV to the secondary laptop, but Multiplicity says that there's no more monitors.

I have disabled the Aero, but I can enable it, and also I play games like Borderlands 2, Fallout 4, Age of empires II Definitive Edition...

More tests that I have done are the switch off the wireless and connecting via Ethernet wire.

Looks like it finds no screens...

Thank you basj, the truth is that I wish to upgrade the software to the KVM Pro because it's something that I need for my work, so I will keep an eye to this post.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

No doubt this is because of the Secondary having 2 graphics adaptors.

You are going to need direct access to the Secondary - the one with the issue.

-'Unload' Multiplicity on it:

-Stop the Multiplicity service:

-Replace MultiPLV64.EXE here:
\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Multiplicity

with this one:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/uzd89tzw8k0us9z/MultiPLV64%20(6).zip?dl=0&file_subpath=%2FMultiPLV64.EXE

-Reboot and try again.

Reboot primary and secondary, or just secondary?

The Secondary - the one the work is being done on...

Ok, Sean, I did that and I have the same results. Black screen.  I can see the actual screen on the sidebar, but when I connect, black.

TeamViewer works fine, but I'd prefer Multiplicity.

Hey Sean, it was me, I undid the forced graphics use, but the first time following your directions, I goofed and killed Multiplicity in task manager, rather than is services.msc.

All is well now, no black screen.

Ok, so replacing that MP file, having the PC use both graphics cards, has fixed your issue, yes?

Yes, it has!

I have killed the service and overwritten the file, then I restarted the computer but I continue with the black screen.

There's any option to get a repport for you?

Yes, the lid is open, also tested with and without TV.

The laptop is connected to AC charger, and the energy configuration is Max Performance.

And the file replacement was done on the Secondary PC, not the Primary, yes?

You mention disabling Aero, what do you mean by that exactly?

The Aero Peek, but I have tested with and without this function, and also with all the performance disabled and enabled.

All what I can think right now is that it could be caused by the use of 2 diferent users on windows?

I have 2 administrators:

-BuriedRabbit

-Sonny

I have installed the software on BuriedRabbit, and I try to connect when BuriedRabbit is logged-in, and active.
