About 10 minutes ago all the contents of my Fences (except 1) dumped themselves onto the desktop. Now every Fence is empty and the icons on the desktop move away from them. What the frack ????

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.
1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.
2) Fences version.
3) Need to know what happened when the icons jump off the fences. Anything installed, updates of drives, opening an app. Can it be reproduce. etc etc. Please provide more details so we can try to recreate the issue on our side.

The snapshot restore didn't work either - I can't explain why it didn't restore, but I do have a strong suspect of what started this.
The IT dept started syncing our desktops to OneDrive. Every icon now has the little green sync icon on it. As the sync was happening, the icons on the right side of my large monitor were circulating. Why they were pulled out of their fences onto the desktop because of this is unknown and should probably be looked into by StarDock but others were complaining about their desktops being changed in other ways.

Following. I've experienced this on my work PC (Fences 3) when I set up OneDrive backups. I have at least one colleague that has also experienced this. I would love to see a solution.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.
The reason this is happening at all is how its done when sync'd to OneDrive - they are actually moved to another location. Fences works on absolute paths to naturally they would be unfenced when moved.
What I need to know is if this happens with every sync or was this a first-run thing? Meaning, it would dump the icons, you would move them back (take a snapshot) and it would happen again with each sync?

This animation of the icons happened the one time and your explanation of the conversion to shortcuts makes sense. I was really unnerving to watch my desktop behave like that.
I do see that today, icons are missing that were there last week so I have to suspect the onedrive sync is still in play.
