When sorting is turned on, icons get stacked on top of each other in the top left corner.  When sorting is turned off, Fences works like it should.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) Fences version.

3) Can't see much from the screenshot. Please post a video grab of the issue and post it on a video sharing site and post the link here.

Thanks

Windows 10 version: Version 1903 Build 18362.720

Fences 3 Version: 3.0.9.11 (Steam Version)

More info:

The issue is the Maintain sorting option.  With it turned on, Fences keeps re-sorting the icons and does not place them.

Hello,

Thanks for the video. Not really sure what is happening in your system. Here something you can try.

1) First, make sure your system is ok. Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed. Once it is done, reboot and retest. If it issue still happening. Do the next steps.

2) Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall using the latest version you just downloaded. Reboot after the installation. Retest and report back.

You can  backup your snapshots. Follow this guide : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#backupsnapshots

Thank you,

Hi Basj,

I tried these steps prior to making my post.

Some other information:

I have a dual monitor setup with a screen extension.  The first monitor (main) is 3840x2160, the secondary monitor is 2560x1440.  If you need any other system info such as gpu, let me know.

Thanks
