It kept crashing out on my secondary pc after the whole "losing password debacle" from a few days ago.

I decided that as annoying as it would be, i'd purge with the provided bat, re-do everything and move on.

we'll - hadnt even finished setting up my settings after a purge when it took a dump out of my tray lol.

hope this is helpful

Extremely preliminary but ive disabled microsoft clipboard history & sharing on all 3 pc's yesterday afternoon.

So you enabled history on each and sync, yes?

Quoting klepp0906, reply 25

Most people wont be bothered to change those settings from how microsoft sets them at default

Which is off  - your only 'settings change' was to enable them, yes?

Ill turn on history (not sure about sync) and see if I can reproduce.

Thank you for the feedback and effort, klepp0906.

Ohhh so history and clipboard sharing are off by default (in windows 10?)  its been so long, and its never caused any issue (though ive used synergy and mwb for years and their "sharing" is much more rudimentary than multiplicities) that i forgot i had enabled it manually - assumed it was that way by default.

either way, day 2 now - zero crashes on any machine with history & sharing off.

and please dont thank me.  as big of an arsehole as ive been - i dont deserve it.  I just want to resolve it at this point so anything i can do within reason.

the wake on lan thing might be all thats left on the table :P

you sir are correct, just booted a win10 VM that i use for exactly that purpose (cross referencing) and it is in fact off.   Whether its the syncing or the history, im unsure.   A bit hesitant to try and test that theory lol.

hoping that being keyed in on the featureset thats causing the issue - perhaps it will be obvious to the lead dev which is more likely :P

This is very interesting and would explain why the issue doesn't show for most users.

My suspicion is it would be something to do with the sync happening on both.  I would recommend against this feature though as multiplicity defers sending clipboard data between machines until something asks for it and that feature could force instant requests and thus pointless copying especially with file data.

We will investigate further.

Oh i'll definitely be keeping it off.  It is redundant after all.  While id prefer them to not interfere with one another, not crashing is the lesser evil by a mile.

Thanks, klepp0906 for the tip!

Oddly enough I've not encountered the issue this week at all (and I have been using MP between systems a lot).  Once it resurfaces I'll disable the clipboard sharing and see if that does the trick.

Thanks again!

So you had it on as well then... Interesting...

On the secondary, yes, enabled..  The option is not there on my primary.   So when I test this, it will be to turn it off on the secondary system.

i had it on all 3.  Had crashes on all 3.  Turned it off on all 3.  Not a single crash since.  preeeeetty satisfying i must say :P

Really hoping that does the trick.  You saw it so often that we should be fairly certain if it does not return for you in a day or so.   Keeping fingers crossed!
