HOW TO

grouping issues

Hi All

Need some help in understanding what I'm doing wrong using this app. Using Excel for office 365, I use the method of holding the Alt key down and opening up a new session of excel. I need to at any given time have 3 different sessions of excel open to have specific workbooks open on 3 different screens. So let's assume each session is Session 1, Session 2 and Session 3

Session 1 I have workbooks A & B

Session 2 I have workbooks C & D

Session 3 I have workbooks E & F

In session 3 I want to add a new workbook, so in this group I selected the open icon...browsed to my file and opened it. It opened up in session 1 instead. My difficulty lies in breaking that workbook from session 1, so I can move it to session 3.

My settings are as follows:

Can anyone share how to accomplish this?  Nothing I seem to do from settings or otherwise seems to allow for me to move that one workbook from Session 1 grouping to the Session 3 grouping.

Additionally, I'd like to have certain workbooks open up in the grouping I'm working in, so is there a way when multiple sessions of Excel are opened to have the workbook open up where I want it to?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried the Save Group function in Groupy? With save group you can assign Workbook A and B will always open in a group by clicking a Saved groupy named "Session 1" and Workbook C & D with Saved groupy named Session 2.. etc etc.

Try it and let us know if you still need our assistance.

the files in each grouping change based on the data being worked with at any given time, so while this is great if my file use is static, in my situation the file usage is dynamic and would probably not work in this scenario.

Yes if the Workbook move around, than the saved group won't work. With that information and looking back at your post. I don't think there is a way Groupy will work in your situation effectively.

Thank you,
