Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, not really sure what you mean by "Desktop color". Need more information on that. A screenshot with an arrow to that area which you need to change would help.

Thanks

Desktop color is chosen from Windows Settings > Personalization > Background > Custom Color.

Custom Color == Background color == color of the desktop area.

I am using Black and Gold by IceBabee. It sets the Background color to grey.  I need to set the Background color in the skin to black, without changing any other color in the skin. I need to set it from within the Window Blinds app because the Background color from Windows Settings is overwritten by Window Blinds.

I don't know how to upload an image to this forum.

Need to know.

1) Windows version, please use winver.exe

2) Windowblinds versions.

and

You should be able to change that using the Desktop background color via skinstudio-> Change Skin colors-Show me the skin degined system colors(drop down menu)-> Change "Desktop background" , refer to below image.

Yes.  I won't know if it worked until the monitors power up after being shut off after 30 min inactivity. Will report here thereafter.

I can't restart because I run a weather station and I need to be up 24/7.

If your Windowblinds run with no issue, you should not need to reboot. Just apply the changed skin within Skinstudio. If you set the desktop to use just color as wallpaper it should be immediately apply.

Just a friendly reminder : This mod is just for your own use, you should not share it with others unless IceBabee give consent on it.

The background color was successfully changed from grey to black in SkinStudio and was effective immediately. What I am testing is whether this change survives a monitor powerup after the monitors are shut down after 30 min inactivity.

When the skin background was grey it would overwrite the Windows background color (black) on monitor powerup so I was constantly resetting the background to black. This behavior should stop now that the skin background is set to black.

I thought there was a way to change the skin desktop background from within the skin, there are many color change options listed there, but I could not find the equivalent of SkinStudio Desktop Background.

There is another choice, you can make and use all black wallpaper, any 2x2pixel black box, should do it and that should solve your desktop color issue. It will stay black with any WB skin you ever use.

Black wallpaper is an interesting idea. Meanwhile, the fix is working as intended.

Thanks for your help.
