Changing System Colors DPI issue 3840x2160p and 1920x1080

Hello

Just purchased this program, its a good one.

One issue i have foud

Not dependent of desktop resolution is when opening Modify Theme > Change System Colors:

The popup only looks correct in 100% DPI (windows settings)

And when you use 3840x2160 resolution that dpi needs like 700% in magnifier to even see something when using an 65 inch TV siting like 2.5-3m from the tv.

It would be great if you could add so that popup menu worked correct in all DPI:s, 300% is the normal windows setting at 3840x2160 resolution.

It is even to small in 1080p att 100% DPI on big screen tvs when sitting away from the tv.

I have tried DPI override, disable full screen optimization. but nothing works when the program only scales right at 100% DPIi in all resolutions.

I am happy with the program, almost got Foobar UI all black.

Hello againI

Both WindowBlids abd Skinstudio should work in the stanard DPI setting that windows uses.

1920x1080 in 150% DPI

3840x2160 in 300% DPI

Now these programs scales totally wrong witn Windows 10 recommended DPI scaligs.

And today when people are connecting to their UHD tv:s these two resoutions are the most commnly used.

When the need of 100% DPI is required to make these programs to work as expected it nearly unuseable, because everything is being to small to read.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I don't see the issue you mentioned on my 4K monitor running on 300% scaling. Here a screenshot of Skinstudios on 300% scaling on my system. Unless I misunderstand your issue.

As the screenshot of SkinStudio shows, SkinStudio isn't even DPI aware and is OS scaled automatically.  It shouldn't therefore be possible for part of it to scale and other bits not to.

WindowBlinds is DPI aware however and I can reproduce an issue with the items in the list not scaling up.  Or rather the space for them, the font scales but the space allocated for each line remains fixed which would lead to clipping above 200% dpi.

That said 300% dpi usage is highly unusual as changing colours like that in WB wouldn't be a common action when using a TV I would have thought.

I will make sure the next WB update addresses the issue with the space allocated for those items though.

Skinstudio scales its windows to big when i use 300% DPI, dont ask me why, your pictures looks way better than on my system. No other program does it except XRecode 3 that app also requires both 1080p and 100 DPI to work correctly, or else to big windows or menus that not can be read, or windows that is outside desktop and cant be moved.

But yes, WB is really DPI aware and must be used in 100% DPI independent of resolution to work correctly.

And i got the answer to understand why it does. Thanks for explanation.

Good service here.

With regards to SKS, if you set your dpi to 300% you are going to get massive windows as the OS will scale it by a factor of 3 in each direction.

To SKS at 1080p would be the equivalent of running at 640x360 res.  At 4K that's 1280x720.  Neither res is high enough for SKS.
