Icons dropped on fence goto desktop

Happens on Windows Server 2016

When I create or drop programs and folders (shortcuts or actual) into any of my fences they are automatically moved to free space on the desktop.  I can set a rule for a folder that designates it as the target for new program shortcuts and those will stay.  Others do not.  Any ideas?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) Fences version.

3) Is the issue happened all the time? Only when Fences is lock/unlock? On certain Monitors? Normal or Portal Fences? or any other details.

Thanks

I should also mention that turning auto arrange off does not help.  If I drop an icon on a fence it is just stuck to the desktop where dropped and is not attached to the fence.

Hi Basj,

Windows Version: Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.3300)

Fences Version: 3.0.9.11

Frequency: Always

Additional:

 - Fences is always unlocked

 - My desktop is a Citrix virtual machine

(I've not had problems running under this type of desktop before)

 - One monitor only

 - Also, I'm unable to create portal fences (which is a drag)

Thanks,

Mike

Any specific reason you are not updating to Version 1903? Not really sure if it Citrix VM compatibility issue with Fences. I run VMware VM machine and Fences run on it without issues.

Anyway, I have forwarded your questions/problems to the Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate you feedback and patience.

Thank You,

I'm using 1607 as that's what I'm provided by the infrastructure team and Windows Update is not updating beyond this version.  Thanks for forwarding to support team.

Please try the purge and reinstall steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Just to be sure, re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall it, reboot again. Retest and report back.

Thanks

Woo Hoo!  Icons are now landing on the fence and staying put.  I'm also able to create folder portals.  Thanks to you Basj and your support team.
