Better half going out of town with laptop can I still connect?

Hello,

My better half is going out of town this coming weekend and taking his laptop with him.  I provide technical support, as I'm the computer person of the home.  Will Multiplicity work outside of our private home network (e.g. 10.0.0.X)?  If yes, what do I need to do to configure the secondary (his) and the primary (mine)?

Thanks! :)

MP is designed to work on the same subnet; not across other networks or over the Internet.

Hello,

Do you know of a product similar to Multiplicity but can go beyond the local subnet?

Can using VPN put  oth computers on the same subnet even with the distance?

Any other solutions possible?

Thanks.

Yes, that would work.  If you have each connected to a VPN, that puts it on a shared / same subnet, that would work.

You would likely want to add the Secondary by IP instead of HostName:
