Can not get Multiplicity to work

I have Multiplicity installed on my main PC.  I uninstalled it from my old laptop and now have it installed on my new laptop.  It appears to be set up, but whenI move my mouse to the new laptop, the mouse does not go to that screen.  Please see the screenshot below.

I notice that it say Click here to visit our website for upgrade options.  I've already paid for the upgrade.

Please let me know what I can do to get this to work.

HB,

I would like to have you start here so as to not have to cover how Seamless works:

https://forums.stardock.com/486104/multiplicity-support-faq#seamlessmonitor

Also, if your Secondary is indeed to the left of your Primary, I would rather your grid looked like this:

With your primary in the center.

Okay, so it doesn't work.  Is there anything that we can do to get this up and running?  It worked before on my old PC.  I did change it to moving the middle row of the grid.  Yes, the secondary is to the left.

If you disable your AV software, and Windows Firewall, on each PC, does it work then?

I am unable to ping the secondary PC.  When I take turn off the Windows Firewall I can ping the secondary PC.  I tried to download the file

http://sd.stardock.com/Support/Software/Multiplicity/MPPortFix.zip

and run this but got a 404 message--file no found.

I am not sure what AV software is or if I have it.

You should also check the firewall settings to make sure there is an inbound rule for Multiplicity on the Primary system...https://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-10/adjust-windows-10-firewall-settings/

That is what the portFix script I wrote will do...

All of this is covered in the 'Connection 101' section of the MP support FAQ:

I've made sure that each PC are set as Private.

I've checked the firewall setting on the Primary making sure that Multiplicity is allowed.  There are six listings for Multiplicity (MP Application clipboard, MP Application Remote Screen, MP Audio Service, MP Clipboard, MP Remote Screen Service and MP Service.  All six are enabled and allowed in the Inbound Rules panel.

Also ran the  portFix script on both computers.

Also read again, the Connection 101 section of MP support FAQ.

Still can not ping the secondary.  Multiplicity still does not work.

Does MP work with each PC firewall off?

If not, and keeping the firewalls off, what message do you get when you test the MP connection?

It does not work with both firewalls turned off.  When I test the connection I get the message, "Multiplicity was able to successfully connect to this computer."

Thanks Sean, I wasn't aware that the support page had this info or the script.  You may also want to add something (unrelated) to the page in regard to sharing audio.  I got a new HP PC yesterday with Windows 10.  When I tried to share audio it wouldn't work.  The volume control on the secondary PC (new one) would not turn on but rather brought me to a diagnose audio problem screen.  Speaker detection was turned off and all other settings were correct.  I plugged in a headset (USB) and low and behold the audio worked to my external speakers on my primary machine.  Although the HELP page says "Some devices will not play sound unless output devices are indeed attached (power saving).  If no speakers are on the sender, plug in some earbuds to ensure it is playing and that is indeed the issue."  This should be amended as the assumption is to plug in the earbuds to make sure sound is coming out of the system.  Apparently an external device has to be detected in some manner otherwise WIndows won't allow the audio to be shared through Multiplicity.

Thanks!

Is either PC connected to a VPN?

If you deactivate the current Primary and demote it to the Secondary - promote the current Secondary to the Primary, can you get to each PC?

Neither PC is connected to a VPN.

When I change the primary to the secondary is asked about deactivating the license.  I said no.  It is now a secondary.

When I go to make the secondary the primary it is asking me to enter the product key.  Is this going to mess up the number of licenses that I have by inputting that?  I have already had a hard time getting the license thing straightened out.  Do not want to have to go through any more of that.

You want to say 'yes' so you can activate the Secondary being made the Primary....  You can make it a Primary again, then demote it again to get the option.

I said "no" on the old primary, but it still worked to make it the secondary.  My question is about the secondary.  It is asking me to put in my product key like I am installing it for the first time.  I do not want it to use another license just to test, and then I have all sort of trouble with that again!

Please trust me....  Go back and make it a Primary, then back to a Secondary saying 'yes' that you want to deactivate it.

Go to the other PC, make it a Primary and activate it when prompted...

Okay, that works.  So can I make the new secondary a primary again and my new primary a secondary again?

Ok, what works; MP Seamless works or just the activation part?

Yes, to change it back, just repeat the process on each PC.

The Multiplicity Seamless works.  Or I should say worked.  When I change it back, it no longer works.

Are you certain that you turned off all firewall options on both PCs:

I had turned it back on.  So I turned it off, and now Multiplicity Seamless does not work again with the Primary as primary, and the Secondary as secondary.

I am quickly running out of option for you here.  A clean boot, on each PC, seems in order:

Should the firewall still be off on both PCs while doing the clean boot?
