Fences problem in Windows 10

Icons go out of Fences in the desktop after locked screen, logout or PC reboot

Dear support,

I've recently upgraded Fences to version 3.0.9.11 as suggested by the support since I had W7 and now migrated to W10.

Unfortunately, using W10, the icons don't stay inside Fences boxes which is very annoying.

Is there a fix/upgrade to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance

regards

Joao

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more. Is the icons move by itself anytime. Or after reboot? Could you post a video showing us the problem.

Thank you.

Hello,

Unfortunately I can't make a video because this problem happens when the computer locks itself or I logoff or reboot.

To recap, I organize my icons inside the Fences and when the system goes into standby/logoff/reboot, the icons appear as shown in the picture below.

Hope you can help me with this information

Sorry about my previous post. I did copy/paste of the image instead of attaching it. Could you please delete previous post and use this one instead? Sorry for the inconvenient.

Hello,

Please try this.

1) Set all your icon back into their respecting fences.

2) Save the layout/snapshot.

3) Backup the layout using these steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#backupsnapshots

4) Do the purge and re-install steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling . Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account again. Reboot after the installation. Install the Fences again. Reboot again.

5) Copy over the save/backup snapshots. and restore the snapshot.

6) Test it and report back.

Thank you,

Hi,

Thanks for you quick support.

I've tried your procedure and it seems to work well. I tried to lock and reboot the machine and now the icons remain inside Fences

Best regards

Hi again,

The problem seemed to be solved, but it came back...it happened again when the computer locks itself :(

Aby other hints?

I didn’t mention last time but I am using two screens on this computer. Fences are only present on the main one. Don’t know if this is relevant...

I had the same problem. Only thing different is that I backed up my documents and desktop files to one drive that day. I didn't move any around, but they technically got "moved" to the one drive folder.

Is this a bug after sync with onedrive?
