A sound section? How does a sound section help me customize my desktop?

I don't think there would be a sound section...if anything, I can list quite a few other sections that would hold precedence over a sound one.

The one I would like to see is Rainlender. How bout a petition for Rainlender!

Actual 'skinned proggy' sections would take precedence to ancilliary proposals such as sounds, etc...

Plus there is the infamous bandwidth issue. Sound is huge.

*boom* One idea bites the dust. A good one that could come into use when bandwidth is immense but not feasable for the current system.

there are plenty of wav sites out there to satisfy your sound needs doc. google it mon.

More skinnable app libraries seem to be a higher priority among most users (for obvious reasons on a skin site) and as Hus noted, a Rainlendar section is perhaps the most frequently requested. So any site expansion should be for more skin libraries first.

Another problem with a sound section, would be people uploading "kewl sounds I found on the net".........

How many people make their own sounds? .... (other than me)

I can make farting noises using my armpit and my hand.

Actually, that doesn't count, does it?.......

Hippy, I'm afraid that would be a "rip" of the original sound.

I guess it would depend, you could be sitting in the living room here and not say a word to my daughter after introducing you and then play a few riffs with your armpit and my daughter would be in awe of you and you would be the greatest friend she has

oh, she's into collecting different bug's and hold them in her hands so she can bring them to me and ask what kind each is and a little about them my wife learned fast not to ask what she has in her hands when outside

Java front end for IRC channels that assumes the identity of logged in citizens and up with a guest account for those who are considering joining the site?

WinCustomize and Stardock for that matter have an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) server online 24/7. Not everyone has or wants to learn how to install and configure, secure an IRC client.

If thre was a Java, ASP, or what have you, IRC Client where all a visitor had to do was click a link and enter the Channel they would probably make use of it for support and also to have real-time chats with other users.

Kind of like an ICQ, AIM, MSN instant messanger chat, but with a whole bunch of people chatting in one place.

just a though...

How do you get to the IRC channel?

Thats why SDC has an irc client built in.

Yes, Stardock Central logs you into WC under your Stardock.net account when you run it.  You can also log in to irc under "chat" without installing an irc cliet through SDC.  Unless you insert a nickname, you enter as "guest".  There is a place to enter your user info, however.

I was thinking that a IRC frontend setup to a url on the WinCustomize site when I mentioned it. Never noticed one if there is one, though I did look a year or so back.
