Itz all over the place IP,DevArt/Neowin and whatnot.I'm hoping it's some kind of bad joke.It is simply unbelievable how greed is so incredibly rampant.It is saddening.

Yep,,It certainly does.I say starting with this post we all get behind this thing and squash it like a bug.No offense to bugs just Apple.

There has to be something questionable about the code, or something they worked out. I say this because there is no way they can make any claims to Docking and Bar Menus, zoomers and such that I can think of.

Jeepers IP,,I hope yer right. You would certainly know much more about that side of it than me.I am totally hooked on my OD and look forward to further advancements,,without these murky issues of money and copyrights.

I will keep my copy of ObjectDock and keep using it even if Stardock is forced to stop production and ask users to stop using.

But I do find it hard to believe that Apple can/could or would push very hard unless there is something key missing. You notice there is not any mention of why it was pulled or what transpired, on the developers site? Seems to indicate there is more to it than just the Docking concept.

I will keep it to myself so the only way Apple will know I have it is if they hack into my system. I will counter-sue them for hacking if they sue me for having it.

Far as I am concerned, unless specifically asked to dink ODock by Stardock, for whatever reason, Apple can go go get pissed and wiz up a rope.

Well TC,,Seeing that MS and Apple share the same bed,,,on occasion,Look for a "Critical Update" from Windows Update to make OD,Moby and renegade YZ user's go willy nilly.

I hope Microsoft does not start getting upset about SDCentral being similar to the Windows Update site. This reminds of of when McAffee decided over so many years to file a complaint that Windows Update ripped of McAffee's VirusScan update technology.

They are indeed TC,and always have been.Truthfully they are one in the same.The bickering and legal maneuvers are simply a show put on for us,,the people.While they line their pockets with money made by other people writing code and giving it away.ObjectDock is free.It is given away to free people by free people.

What bugs me about this most aside from apples 'politics' is that some people are bringing up weird conspiracy theories again undertoning that stardock wants to bash a competitor. Oh my...

For what it is worth, Stardock would inform people of exactly what is taking place. Honesty is one of the best things about SD and WinC in my opinion. As far as implying Stardock wants to bask anyone, not my job or my shtick for that matter

Can't wait for a word from the Admins.

As I mentioned before, someone connected to either Stardock and/or WinCustomize would/will always inform people of what is taking place with any of the product/applications be it commercial/shareware/freeware within reason.

The one thing that is really different with SD and WinC is they ask for input, inform people of the future and always take the end user (all of us) into consideration within reason. I do not know for sure if official comments will be made in this post. But, I wouldn't expect one, because it is all supposition revolving around someone elses application, hence not within reason, when weighing commenting upon because of possible tangents arising.

If there was an issue, it would be in the news section of this site, which is why it pays to read the Site News

I don't think Stardock is involved in any kind of conspiracy. Unlike other companies, Stardock is very much a company for the people. How many companies other than Stardock can you name where you can actually contact the CEO directly rather than being given the run around with a bunch of secretaries and assistants? How voice is very much heard here.

I am worried that Apple may be planning to go after Stardock for making ObjectDock.

Considering Mobydock hasn't gotten a letter from Apple (or at least said so) the conspiracy people are showing their true biases if they think Stardock had something to do with it.

Apple sends us letters quite regularly, btw, But we take a different view (since we have lawyers). We respond with requests for them to precise, written examples of what they object to so that we can modify our software or website or whatever.

In the case of a dock, Apple, IMO, would need to be very explicit as to what they object to. I have read through on many occasions Apple's patent on their dock (or bookshelf). The docks don't include any copyrighted images. Icon zoomers? DesktopX had them long ago and before DesktopX VDE had things like that and before that other programs. Taskbar and launcher? The Windows Start bar.

Look at the BOTTOM of it. This is Object Desktop, released in 1995. While it's not the dock, you can see the general concept even then. Tasks and program launching. Put in zoomers and you have ObjectDock/yZDock/Mobydock.
