identical dark and light substyles sinds 1 week

on Win 10 64 bit

Hi all,

Since I installed the last skin, i.e. Vengeance (a masterskin) by Lightstar, about 1 week ago, there no longer is a (/any) difference between the light and dark substyles on all(!) my skins (and I have quite a few installed). I talked about his with Tom (Lightstar) as it happened directly after installing his skin, and he adviced me to uninstall WB, restart, run a registry cleaner, restart, re-install WB (an skins), and see what happens. I did exactly that, but it didn't change anything. Now I am guessing it might have to do with a very recent WIn 10 update, but I am not sure.

Any tips anyone?

Best,

Arnoud

* Update *

Something really weird happened just now:

if I click the search button in the WB window, and select ( i.e. type) 'Lightstar', then these (Lightstar) skins _do have_ different light and dark substyles, but if I select a skin any other way the differences are not shown and/or applied.

*edit* The right effect (= there is a diff. between light and dark substyle) only appears with the a few (Ligthstar) skins, f.e. Limited and Pluton, the other skins (also Lightstar's skins) still don't show a difference between light and dark substyle.

Really strange, no?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But not too sure on the issues:

there no longer is a (/any) difference between the light and dark substyles on all
End of quote

What do mean by that? Windows 10 dark or light style or Substyles build inside a theme? Please elaborate. And if possible post a screen capture of it. Preferable with theme that come with Windowblinds.

Thanks.

Hi Basj, I indeed mean the light  and dark substyles build inside a theme.

Above : ligth substyle of skin Saphire.

Below: dark substyle of same skin.

They are identical, not only in the preview, also when applied.

Not too sure, but could you try the purge and reinstall steps and see if it helps : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge, re-install and reboot again. Retest and report back here. Might as well re-download all your theme and reapply them to see if it helps.

Try that and let us know.

Thank you,

This is known issue and has been reported. We just have to wait for a new update.

Okay, @basj I did exactly as you adviced (in accordance with the instructions on https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling), but it doesn't change anything.

@ALMonty, so, then others have the same issue?

Thanks,

Arnoud

I was getting conflicting issues with the Explorer backgrounds. Most noticeable was the Tree view background would not change (been reported). Then the Explorer background wouldn't change. I just tried it now and the color is there (Flat Dark by Lightstar), tree view still white. I tried Simplic Dark by basj and the explorer background is dark and the tree view is also dark.

Stardock is just waiting for the next 10 update to fix the problem that the last update caused.

Okay, I understand, I hope my problem will then be fixed as well, thanks!

Any of your problematic theme which is not master skin? So I can check it out.

Thank you,

Hi Basj, f.e., Ninja (don3518) is not a masterskin.

Strangely enough, one of the only skins that does still seem to work (so, there is a difference between light and dark substyle) is Limited (Lightstar), also, not a masterskin.

Thanks,

Well from what I read on another thread the issue should be resolved when the WB get its long awaited update. Please refer to this : https://forums.stardock.com/494797/get;3748490
