A bit curious as to what the improved skinning support entails. Anyone who knows?

I see the broken "Games" link has still not been fixed.

This has been around now since version 1.5

Pretty poor effort for a paid-for utilty

FYI... I'm getting this BattlEye error while running Atlas game after updating to Start10 v1.7:

21:51:19: Starting BattlEye Service...

21:51:22: Launching game...

Is it causing issues with the game?  It says you can ignore that message if it is not causing problems.

Later versions of win10 removed the special games folder in the OS.  It is nothing to do with any start10 update.

Complaints on that would have to go to Microsoft, we just show the folder contents but it would have to exist first.

Neil, if Microsoft listened to customer complaints, there would be no reason for Start10 to exist.

Why not just admit defeat and remove the annoying broken link. It's not rocket science.

Microsoft do listen on occasion, though in this case it is unlikely.

The link isn't enabled by default and remains in case you run Start10 on an older Windows 10 release.  There are still some older versions being supported by Microsoft, not everyone is forced to update every 6 months.  Long term it will go away in Start10 too.

Solution :

1: I used Bloatware Uninstaller for uninstalling Start10, also the registry leftovers where removed.

2: No restart, but Shutdown the computer

3: starting up the computer, than i take a look after start10 in Configuration screen under Apps, no tracks of Start10 anymore, so the program was good removed.

4: Running the install of 'Start10 1.70.exe' under my downloadmap from Stardock.

5: Start10 1.7 installs correctly in Windows 10 Pro 1903 with build number 18362.53

6: I opened Start10 to configure my Start10 Layout and Settings, they working correctly.

7: I restarded my computer and Start10 works fine

8: Object Desktop Manager doens't show up the 1.61 version installed it's now 1.7 version that showed up. ther is no more a conflict between the 2 versions in Object Desktop Manager anymore.

Hopefully this information may help other members.

Kind Regards,

Mike

Hi Neil,

Atlas game is functioning normally, but I was concerned that Start10 might have been disabled.

When I Alt-Tab from Atlas, Start10 does appear to be working fine.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with Issues on the New Release. I miss not having it working at All.

No need to worry, can't find the key for it.. I know I brought it but can't find it on my download page. I'm sure I had start8 and then upgraded it, but it seems not, stardock gaslighting. so its deleted and gone..

Actually the Battleye error is causing issues. I don't even get the error message, but I know it is trying to block the start10_64.dll. And because of that it is causing the whole start menu, taskbar and system tray to refresh when running a battleye game like Fortnite, PUBG, The Crew 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. And the refresh causes a force quit on multiple programs. These programs are for example Corsair iCue, TeamSpeak, MSI Afterburner and NZXT Cam. And the only way to fix this is by logging out and in again to Windows or restarting your computer. This didn't happen on earlier version of Start10 which is a huge problem for me.

Blocking a dll loading into the game will not cause any impact to explorer.

It sounds like the latest version of battleeye is causing explorer to crash and those apps have not been designed to handle an explorer restart to recreate their system tray icons.

This is unlikely to be anything to do with start10.

I find that hard to believe. Because this wasn't a problem until I updated from 1.6 to 1.7.

This problem began right after I upgraded to 1.7 and has been a problem even on version 1.8. So I have been forced to uninstall every game I have that uses Battleye protection because of that. I have also already sent 2 mails to Battleye with a detailed description about this problem and have not received any response. And those 2 mails have been sent with a long time passing between them.
