fences and icon packager

hello

i have both software installed and my icons into the differents fences doesn't get the changes when i apply an icon package.

i have to go to each icon and make right click, properties, personalize, change icon, don't choose another one and just make ok

i guess it's the cache or something like that

 

any idea or a dev to take it on his todolist ? ^^

Hello,

I can't reproduce it. Whenever I change icon package. All my folder icons and universal icons such as text file, etc etc get change too. Can you post a video capture of the problem.

It look like there is something changing the icon back to default. Please try purge and reinstall fences using this steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot and re-test.

and i've uninstalled fences, reboot and make a test with iconpackager and surprise the problem is still there ...

so maybe it's more an iconpackager problem than a fence issue ?

i've installed fences and no changes obsiously

You can try the purge and reinstall icon packager using this steps : https://forums.stardock.com/485953/iconpackager-support-faq#reinstalling

As usual re-download icon packager from your account, restart and retest. Report back.

I think something is blocking your iconpackager. Please try the cleanboot steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot

These are for Fences but it is basically the same instead of Fences just make sure only Iconpackager is enabled.

Try it and let us know.

so ... i've done all of this and after the last reboot my computer have no more writing ...

only icons but no writing at all, very usefull ^^

in brief, i install from scratch windows and install only fences and for me moment all is good.

i will came back if and when i install iconpackager, i'm a little scary now -_-  8C  :grin:

Not sure what you mean by "no more writing" and why is it usefull?  But, as long as "all is good" for you. Its great for me :thumbsup:

i have a question if i can : when a program (excel for example) is open and i go to a fence, it opens but "under" excel and not on top

i don't find such an option. is it possible ?

No, Fences can't work in-front of an applications. Its desktop level application.
