Minor Theme Glitch with Combined Tabs?

OS: Windows 10 Home x64 | Groupy: 1.18 | Windowblinds: not installed.

I've just started trialling Groupy today and testing it under several different configurations. Behaviour-wise, it seems to be doing fine, but I'm encountering an issue with low-contrast text colors when Combined Tabs is on and Title Bars and Window Borders is enabled in Windows 10.

When this setting is off, most window title bars are white with black text. When it's on, the theme color may be too dark for black text. In my particular case, the theme color is dark gray.

Here's a series of examples for how cmd.exe behaves when using Groupy in this scenario...

Tabs Always Placed Above (not focused) (OK)

Tabs Always Placed Above (focused) (OK)

Tabs Combined if Possible (not focused) (OK)

Tabs Combined if Possible (focused) (ISSUE - black text on dark gray background!)

I saw on the pinned topic about Groupy 1.18 that some people were complaining about issues with tab colors/backgrounds, and that they were going to roll back to 1.17 or earlier. Since I haven't used a previous version, I was going to ask if I should do the same until this is reviewed.

Hello,

Thanks for your input. Yes the problem is known and I believe its been look at by the Support and Dev team.

As for that, its really up to you. But from what I see its still functions as it should with the current version 1.18. Its only problem is on that specific dark gray tabs.

Thank you,

Yep, I can see that 1.17 doesn't exhibit this issue because it always renders the active tab as black text on a white background.

You know, it might be partially Microsoft's fault that this occurs. I've just seen a native dialog rendering black text on a dark background.

Well, I'm disappointed to see there hasn't been any update to address the theme bugs before my 30-day trial ran out.

Given the general patterns of what I've read in the forums, along with the fact that paying for Groupy would not entitle me to any future updates (even bugfixes), I think I'll just have to uninstall and give this a pass until Windows 10 natively supports tabs in Explorer, which may come out later this year.
