Very slow fences with decently powerful computer

I think several other people have reported this problem, but I figure the more people who write about the problem the more sample size Stardock has to try and fix the problem.

I have tried the solutions I've found through google from Stardock -the bat file that "resets" fences, I have also tried reinstalling fences but still have the problem.

The software is borderline unusable, most times when I go to unroll my fences my desktop freezes till it restarts then once fences does load there is a lot of lag and hangs.

Other Stardock software (Windowfx) works fine

Here are my specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 2700x

32gb ram

500 gb samsung ssd

RX 580 8 gb video card

I don't remember fences being this bad about 6 months + ago.

Thanks for any help you can provide

DBROWN902...rather than hardware info, what's more relevant would be OS ver/release and anything odd/peculiar to your system and its use.

Example being that I see no issues with Fences myself...on a machine that runs 24/7/365, has 100 or so icons, on a system install that's about 3 years old [or so] running Win 7 Ultimate.

Needless to say, Win 10 often has issues [not at all specific to Fences....just issues everywhere - it's nearly a lottery]...;)

Cheers Azdude, I tried to say in my post that those were the recommended steps I took already and still experience the problems.

@Jafo, I don't know what could be making things run oddly.

I am running Win10 1809.

I have considered a fresh windows install but I feel like it is a bit overkill for just one software. I might end up doing it though on a slow day :P

Thanks matey

End of DBROWN902's quote

You're right...it's overkill....preferably not the way to go...;)

Also it is worth mentioning that fences is slow on my laptop which is a Spectre x360 with an i7 6560u cpu and 16gb ram

I hope we can find a solution!
