No place to put product key

just bougth Fences and cannot enter product key

I have fences on my old computer and like it a lot.  I just got a new computer and bought a new version of fences using a different email address than the one I just signed in with. New computer, new program, new email address.  I received the product key and installed fences but when the little box pops up with 3 options

 

Enter product key

 

purchase product key

 

start 30 day trial
 
I click on "enter Product key" and then the box just disappears. there is nowhere to enter anything.  I tried starting a trial and again, the box just disappears.
 
I tried rebooting the computer  - same problem with both choices.  I am not clicking on the purchase because I already bought this twice - once for my old computer and now for my new one.  Why should I have to buy it again???
 
I paid for this and I want what I paid for!!!!!!

I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling fences and I still get the same issue.  After I click on anything in the box, the box just goes away, nothing, just disappears.

I have already downloaded twice today from your site when I paid.  I did not do this again.

I ran this program to uninstall.  When I started, it said if I am told to shut down, not to do it.  I got the message that the uninstall was successful and it told me to shut down.  See second sentence in this paragraph.  As instructed I did not shut down. Now I only have a black screen.  So which is correct?  Do I shut down or not???

I am stuck with a black screen but when I tried activating originally, I did not have any browser open.  I copied the product key onto a notepad so I would not have to keep looking for the email with the key.  I never got the screen to actually put any thing in.  Once I click on an item in the choice screen it just disappears.

After merging my emails, I asked for my products and product key but it only showed the one I bought 5 years ago not the one I paid for today.  I have the receipt and the product key but the accounts did not merge apparently.

Hello,

Maybe the new purchase needs a little more time to show up in your account 

give it some more time to show up .

Make sure after you make any of these changes you REBOOT your PC.

 

I have gone ahead and reported this issue to support if anyone is available 

to help you'll see a reply here , check back here, if you get activated also

report back here so I know .

Still no luck.  I have submitted both email addresses even tho I got a message that they had been merged.  Each address got one product link and product key. I still cannot use the one I bought today.  When I get this box...

 

 

...And I click on the first choice, it just goes away.  I never get the screen to put in the key.  I cannot tell you how many times I have tried to do this.  nor can I tell you how many times I have rebooted my computer.  I lost count.  I downloaded from the link in my email 4 times.  I installed and uninstalled 3 times.  Then installed again!!!

 

I have closed all windows and apps and just copied the key from the notepad and closed the notepad, too. I click on the fences icon and cannot get any further than the box pictured above.

 

I cannot find a solution in these forums or in a general search.  I am at a lost and I think I'm out $9.99. I need to be able to use fences or I want my money back.

Basj, I tired that using the command for fences 3 but I got

'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

And I am still having the same issue, there is no place to enter the product key.  So either the command was wrong or I am doing something wrong or there is a bug in the software. 

I give it until Tuesday and I'll ask for a refund.

Activation Problem button no function.

2 Option

  1. Reset IE (Internet Explorer) to its default states and try again
  2. Use the command prompt as listed as this link. https://forums.stardock.com/486311/accounts-and-activation-support-faq#activatecommandprompt (preferred suggestion solution)

As you have tried option 2. Have you tried option 1? Reset IE to its default States. This is due to the Activation button somehow related to IE. To reset IE you can refer to various method posted online. or this -> https://mywindowshub.com/how-to-reset-internet-explorer-in-windows-10/

I am assuming IE refers to Internet Explorer.  I am not using that at all.  I use firefox to buy and download the files then I closed it  and had nothing else open but the download folder.  What does IE have to do with anything???  Why would I reset something that I don't even open??? or load??? or use???

Note : I wish you just try our suggestion and see if it work since that was suggested to few others, who also not using IE as their default browser, but the solution works for them. And the suggested steps were simple few click steps. As said, the activation button was designed to use some part of IE.

It does not matter that you use IE or not - IE is built into Windows and components of it are used (needed) by the activation window to function properly.  That is why they are asking you to set IE to defaults.

For any account merge that is failing, please place a ticket here with each email and the one you want the accounts you want them merged under. 

If after you try the IE reset, and (only) if it does not work, remind me, in the ticket, about your activation issue, and Ill create a batch file for you to activate it.

Thank you, sdRohan.  that makes a bit of sense to me about IE. 

I reset IE but someone needs to review the directions given in the link as they were not exactly the way my Windows 10 works.  I am new to Win 10 (less than 4 weeks) and when I right click on the start button I do not see a control panel link to click on.  I do know how to search for the control panel and I created a desktop short cut to get to it (the reason I need fences is my desktop is starting to look like a toddler marched thru with crayons).  then the directions said to click on "network and internet" but I did not have that option.  I had "Network and sharing" and "internet options".  I did reset and reboot the computer.

When the computer rebooted the fences box like this came up automatically.

I opened the notepad with the key and copied it.  I clicked on the enter product key and the box disappeared.

 

I did not have anywhere to put the key.  I have no idea if I copied and correctly. 

 

I vaguely remember having the same issue the last time I bought fences and someone had to send me a file to run on my older Win 7 computer. I looked in my older files and I have 3 attempts at downloading Fences then.

I filled out a ticket about an hour ago with both issues mentioned - no merger, no place to enter product key.  I have a ticket ID if you need it.

Thank you. I am running fences successfully.  I will check my account merger later. 

Since personal use of fences can go on 5 computers, will I need to run that zip file you sent on the others or will I need a new file for another one.  Getting another computer in a few weeks.

If the prompt fails on other PCs (not likely), you can use what I sent you on up to 5 concurrent PCs.
