start 10 menu switches to windows 10 menu

my start 10 menu switches to windows 10 menu. It won't stay on start 10 and desktop.  you only see the start 10 with desktop for a second before it switches.  the desktop is blank but through file explorer you can see all the things on the desktop. when I click on the start button the start 10 menu comes up but as soon as I exit the menu I get the windows 10 screen

I've uninstalled and reinstalled. same is happening with classic shell free menu.

windows 10? kaspersky? any ideas/fixes?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Would like to know more.

1) Windows 10 version. Use Winver.exe.

2) Start10 version.

3) You mentioned you have Classic Shell did you uninstalled yet. It might have conflicting issue with Start10 if it still installed.

4)Multi Monitors setting? Resolutions and Scaling applied on each monitors.

latest start10

only installed classic shell after start10 problem to see if it happened to another alternative menu,

have now uninstalled classic shell.

on a laptop. no other monitors. was working perfectly until yesterday

Please try purge and reinstall steps as follows : https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling

make sure to re-download the latest installer from your account. Reboot after the installation. Retest and report back here.

purged and reinstalled, still have same problem.  Because problem is the same using the Classic Shell alternative menu I wasn't surprised the purge and reinstall of start10 didn't fix the issue.

I think Microsoft's latest update which brings back their "start menu" is causing this problem.

I have other laptops not updated to the latest windows 10 with start10 still working properly.

the problem started on the affected laptop after the latest windows update.

I think Stardock will need to update Start10 accordingly

please pass this on to the programmers

I know you mentioned you have the latest Windows 10 but still need to know what version numbers you are having on your system. Please use the Winver.exe and put that numbers here :

laptop was accidently switched to Tablet Mode. that's why both alternative menu programs didn't work.
