Hey, is anybody still using Windows 3.1?

I am trying to make a skin that looks like it and a Object Bar too.

well I started with some help from Frogboy's Windows 3.1 skin, but from what I remember it was green on the title bar and not blue.

anyway, I found some screenshot on the net, but I was wondering if anyone is still using it could post or email me a screenshot.


Also, I am wondering, what do you think Windows 3.1 would look like if Microsoft just kept on updating it and never letting go of 3.1?

Oh and by the way, Microsoft will not be updating this OS anymore soon. No more fixes, security updates, or anything for that matter.

Nope, don't use it here... however it was the most stabile windows I ever knew

Win 3.1 always had blue title bars. Maybe there was an option to change that, but the default was blue.

How would you make an ObjectBar theme? From what I remember, Win 3.1 didn't have a start menu

No, 3.1 didn't always have blue bars, those were just the default. I remember building my own "themes" out of the 16 available colors

I sometimes use WinOS2 on my OS2Warp4 maschine at work. There the default color is green.

I have a complete set of colour variations of all the 'themes' available in 3.11....did them for someone else [similar project]...if you want them just let me know. Also check out Calmira.....you might be in for a 'shock'....

I think I will call it 3.1 XP

I still remember 3.1 being green but I guess that was a color veriation set on the computer I was using.

I guess I'll make a UIS2 theme with color awareness (as well as a UIS1 for those odd ball apps and for speed)


What I did with the XP panel so far I don't like but I'll let the beta testers deside

yeah Jafo send them to me. I don't think I'll do all the themes but it would be nice to pick some of them for reproduction.

This might turn out to be a nice venture in skinning; wonder why no one else did it?


( By the way, Sir Hus there is a DX called Bob (or something)... Frogboy made it. Just search under his name )

it might be win 3.11 but I'll be calling it windows 3.1 XP

I'll make a note of it though. I'll put it in the read me and the background instructions.

what a cool venture!! It will take me forever to make it but I'll enjoy using it especially when its finished.
