Start10 Win7 style start menu is too wide

Start10 is displaying the right side of start menu (Win7 style) too wide when I am using Windows display scaling.

Is there anything I can do to make it slimmer?

- manifest file?

- dpi compatibility setting (on which file)?

I did all in the specified order.

The result is the same.

I mention that the scaling is 300%.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Is it right with scaling at 100% ?

1.75 on 1903 is doing the same thing.

Is there anything to be done in order to fix this?

Thank you

Hello,

Sorry, I can't reproduce your issue on my Windows 10 at 300% scaling.

Please try cleanboot steps to see if there is something else is having conflict with Start10 or your font setting. Follow this guide for cleanboot : https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#cleanboot

Try it and report back.

Thank you,

And not on Start11, either. Screenshot was on another issue but that right panel gap also nor appear here.

Please post on what you are seeing on your Start11.

Can you, please, confirm that this screenshot is from a computer with large scaling (250-300%)?

This issue with the right hand side was addressed in an upcoming Start11 build and also an upcoming Start10 build (1.97.1)

The 1.97.1 build is downloadable on the forums on reply 4 here : https://forums.stardock.com/506446

Tried 1.97.1 on systems with high DPIs and the right-hand side is still considerably larger, and the problem is not fixed.

I did clean uninstall and after that install.

It seems that 1.97.1 needs additional fixing.

Maybe there are other problematic areas, with this double scaling issues on the Start10 UI.

On a 21H1 system with 250% scaling and Start10 1.97.1, it's easier to see the problem.

Red marking for the problematic separator -> large empty area marked with orange.

The problem is with the separator. It's longer than necessary. It suffers by the same double scaling issue.

Maybe you can add the option from Start11 for removing separators.

No new features are planned to be added to Start10 as it has been replaced by Start11.

Start10 continues to work as it always did and you are not forced to upgrade, but it will not receive any feature updates.

I understand the reason for not adding new updates to Start10.

But, the separator problem can be fixed, as the shut down button was in 1.97.1-j139?

@Stardock

Can you, please, fix this bug in Start10?

Thank you.

I am afraid 1.97.1 was probably the final update for Start11.
